The Rapier 3100 class power-boat, designed by Len Cox has become an icon of the 1960s and was extremely successful in off-shore racing, particular the now legendary Cowes – Torquay race founded by Sir Max Aitkin. PEGASUS, capable of 20 knots with her planing hull shape has a notable racing history as power-boat 128 and won in the 1960s a good number of races and the Concours d’Elegance trophy for the ‘best all round’ production cruiser, she was built in 1966 by Christchurch Yacht Co. Dorset.

In previous ownership PEGASUS was extensively restored to a high standard and re-engined with the present 140hp Cummins diesels. New teak laid decks, new cockpit sole, new windows, navigation systems and more recently a new transom and complete hull re-paint.

Cold-moulded hull, constructed of triple diagonally laid African Mahogany on Spruce and Mahogany frames. Hull Cascover sheathed from new, making a strong, watertight and durable structure.

Bright, light and spacious interior offering five berths in open-plan layout. 6ft 6ins headroom.

Double upholstered berth foreward, port side upholstered dinette converts to double berth. Generous galley with Neptune 2000 oven and grill, fridge, stainless steel sink with hot & cold pumped water, drawers, pantry and crockery lockers. Gas alarm with twin bilge sensors and auto cut-off valve. Separate heads compartment with WC, wash basin and pressurised hot & cold water with shower tap.

Large aft cockpit with full bench seating having extensive locker space beneath. Folding helmsman and crew seats. Side lockers. Fitted full canopy allowing use of the cockpit area as additional accommodation in inclement weather. Helm position to port with Morse controls, instrumentation. Wrap-round spray/windscreen with sun screens.

PAIR 140hp CUMMINS 6BT TURBO DIESEL ENGINES. Fitted new in 2000 with only 200 hours recorded, together with new stern gear and systems. Vetus sea strainers, Tek tank fuel tanks 400 litres capacity, Racor fuel filters and pipe work. Stainless steel shafts and bronze three bladed propellers. PRM gearboxes fitted at the time engines replaced. Transom trim tabs. Hot water calorifier to starboard engine with shore-power immersion heater fitted. Four 110ah batteries ( 2014 and 2019) offering 24 volt system to the engines. 12 volt domestic electrics. Automatic fire extinguisher to the engine compartment. Two bilge pumps.

Simpson Lawrence anchor winch, bow roller and Bruce anchor with chain and rope. Burgee mast, twin horns.

Azimuth 1000 electronic compass, Simrad EQ32 Sounder & Fishfinder, Nav Man VHF 7200 Radio
