A painted mahogany slipper stern launch
Blighty is a nineteen thirties Andrews slipper stern launch. She has the prerequisite lloyd loom chairs with an aft bench seating three. The current owner has added a cross thwarts table which allows easy picnicking for guests on board with the chairs facing astern as seen in the photos. Blighty used to be called Wiltshire Lad and her sister vessel Wiltshire Lad lives in Henley on Thames. Both are built of mahogany on oak but Blighty has a painted hull rather than varnished mahogany. However her decks are alternating planks which are known as strawberries and cream. The folding dark blue hood complements the livery as do the cushions in blue with white piping. There is a lined overall winter cover which is weighted to keep it from flying off in strong winds. Blighty has a white boottopping with red antifouling. Blighty is driven by a Ford Watermota petrol engine and has a current BSS certificate as well as a current Thames EA licence.
