Beneteau Antares 9.80 Review

The Beneteau Antares 9.80 is a 32-foot flybridge cruiser powered by twin Volvo diesels. It offers all the amenities of a larger boat with spacious accommodation and plenty of headroom. The main cabin features a double island bed with deep drawers and storage underneath and there is a hanging locker. The guest cabin has berths for family or friends and the cockpit has room for four people on deckchairs. If you’re looking for a compact flybridge cruiser that offers great performance and exceptional value, a second-hand Beneteau Antares 9.80 should be on your list.

Who and what was this boat designed for?

The Beneteau Antares 9.80 is a flybridge cruiser with planing hull and semi-tunneled twin shaft drives, designed for cruising in estuaries and around the coast. The boat has good acceleration and is designed to run through the water properly. Although hydraulic trim tabs are available as an option, the boat is unlikely to need them. The Beneteau Antares 9.80 is aimed at young families and owners that appreciate the quality of build and the French styling.

What commentators say about this boat?

Combining spaciousness with high performance, the Antares 9.80 provides a unique sensation of smoothness and power on the water.

The boat has amazing acceleration and, when you plant the throttles even gradually, a perfectly level, imperceptible shift to planing speed.

They didn't sacrifice performance to get more interior volume.

A boat this size with twin diesel engines and this kind of performance at this price is remarkable.

Antares 9.80 is a cute little weekender with all the comforts and nice French styling.

The most amazing thing is the softness of the ride. The boat's natural trim angle presents a fine forefoot to the water.

What to look out for on a pre-owned Beneteau Antares 9.80?

  • Small bunks in guest cabin
