Perhaps the best known of the Westerly ‘sporty’ models and still competitive, Strider is a great performing racer cruiser offering good accommodation for weekends away. The boat is great fun to sail and feels very stable and responsive even in rougher conditions. Rigging and engine kept in good condition and the rest of Strider is in excellent condition for her age with a number of features added and replaced in the current ownership; Including new sprayhood (2017); new UV strip for Genoa (2015); new fresh water pump (2018); new Standard Horizon GX1300E VHF (2018); Liferaft serviced and re-packed in Canister (2017); new Metz antenna and RG8X coax cable fitted for VHF (2016); New 2 blade 16’ Propeller (2017); new treadmaster fitted in previously worn patches (2017) and new navigation lights (2017).
Last ashore and anti fouled January 2020.
Engine last serviced in March 2018. Oil & filter change. Pre-filter change. Fuel filter change. Drained and cleaned Vetus water trap and re-fitted. Inspected raw water impellor – in good condition so re-fitted. Removed, and inspected air
filter – in good condition so washed and re-fitted. Drew out and inspected one of the three engine anodes fitted new in 2016 – about 50% depleted, so re-fitted (will need changing in 2019).
Engine has been winterised with Starbrite pumped through to replace raw water over the winter seasons.
Previous engine services in Jan 2017, March 2016 (where new fuel tank fitted in 2014 was removed and cleaned with detergent and re-fitted) and Mar 14 (by Ray Williams Marine).
