A great example of the ever popular Sydney 40. On top of this renowned design, LOCO benefits from many IRC upgrades and modifications to keep it right in touch with its rivals.
NEW keel configuration in 2012, NEW Selden mast in 2014 and NEW sails in 2013 and 2014. A great overall package and ready to hit the water running.

Further areas of IRC optimisation extend into the keel with a new fin and bulb fitted in 2012, which has quite simply transformed the performance of the boat and really stands her in great stead both inshore and offshore.
The main performance modifications that have occurred are:
2012 - a new IRC keel
2013 - modified rudder to increased size.
2014 - new Selden Mast moved aft by 350mm to increase J to 4.8m
2016 – Carbon Tiller (wheel still available and modular so can be replaced)
2016 - Carbon Bowsprit
The design and drawings of all mods are available on request.
These additions make this boat a very competitive racer. The keel achieves max righting moment for the hull structures and makes the boat 5-10 seconds faster per mile than other Sydney 40. The rig and rigging has been completely overhauled.
Lewmar winches
Spinlock clutches (new XX clutches)
With IRC optimisation in mind the boat has been fitted with a new Selden, fractional, Aluminium, 2 spreader rig, which was only commissioned in July 2014 and has seen very little use since. As part of the upgrade package the boat also now has a new carbon boom and spinnaker pole for use with symmetrical spinnakers.
To further improve the IRC capabilities of the boat, a fixed bowsprit has also been added for use with Asymmetric spinnakers, which really come into their own on both the Offshore courses and when short handed sailing.
A complete and up-together running rigging package also accompanies the boat with a variety of spare lines.
1 x 1.2m Carbon bowsprit.
1 x 1m Spare bowsprit.
1 x 0.5m Spare bowsprit.

The interior has been kept ‘race boat’ simple and is designed for lightweight and offshore racing comfort. The settee-backs swing up from their normal position to form rigid bottom ‘swing’ cots; very functional storage bins are built into the backside of these berths.
The navigation station is incorporated into the aft portion of the engine box just behind the companionway, providing a dry and highly functional site for today’s computer-based navigation.
Basic Fenders and life buoys.
Some safety kit and life lines.
VHF : DSC VHF
GPS MAP : Garmin GPSMAP 451 in cockpit
Instruments : B&G H2000, 4x20/20’s on Custom Mast Bracket & 2 FFD’s
All the upgrades made by the current, passionate owner increase the potential of this boat no end.
IRC performance has been completely transformed and for £30k you just cant go wrong!
