DESCRIPTION

Remarks : The SHE 32C is a beautifully designed and balanced craft. Marketed as a cruiser/racer, she appeals to the single handed yachtsman who puts performance before comfort. Built by South Hants Engineering (SHE) to a Sparkman & Stephens design, The SHE 32C is distinctive thanks to her "clipper" bow, angled forefoot and long over hang at the stern. The result is a fast, stiff and easy to handle cruiser/racer with a light helm suitable for both cruising with the family or thrashing round the cans on a weekend with your pals. Below decks, although spartan, offers good headroom, storage and 4 decent berths. She is classed as a 6 berth yacht with the addition of two pilot berths in the saloon but as the writer and in my early 50's I would struggle to get in one and definitely struggle to get out again. The engine, although original is sound and starts first time. The engine bay encroaches on the saloon but comes in handy both as a seat for the chart table and as a brace position for the galley. Galley includes a Plastimo gas oven with 2-burner hob and grill. Electronics include Auto pilot, chart plotter, DSC VHF, sounder and wind speed. Good suit of sails including main, genoa, storm jib, jib and big boy. Accommodation : The main cabin is entered from the cockpit. To port is the chart table and instrument panel with quarter berth aft. Opposite on the starboard side is the galley with Plastimo Neptune 2500 gas oven with hob and grill. The galley is incorporated behind the engine housing and has a stainless steel sink with hand pumped fresh water. There is plentiful storage for provisions and utensils. Main saloon with settee/berths either side of offset saloon table. Above the settees port and starboard is occasional berths and storage. Forward of the saloon bulkhead is the heads compartment with Lavac sea toilet and sink unit with hanging space opposite. In the forepeak is the bow cabin with a further two berths. Interior is easy clean green vinyl and light varnished teak. Cast iron and lead fin keel with skeg hung rudder and tiller steering. Bow with stem head fitting and roller. Mooring cleats fore, aft and mid ships. Large anchor cleat on fore deck. GRP "She deck" in grey. Stainless steel double section bow rail and stanchions with double set guard wires. Handily placed grab rails allow easy access forward. Shrouds are inboard making it easy to go forward. Large self bailing cockpit finished in non slip "She deck". Cockpit lockers port and starboard with additional locker at stern. Removable teak seat. Engine & Electrics: Vessel is powered by an inboard Yanmar YSE12 engine. Although original the engine is well maintained and starts first time. Engine is housed beneath a removable cover which doubles as a seat for the chart table. Bank of 3X12V batteries providing engine start and domestic power. These are recharged via the engine alternator or the solar panel and wind generator. Yacht benefits from shore power including cable. New starter motor Sails & Rigging: Keel stepped aluminium mast by Kemp. Stainless steel standing rigging and terylene running rigging of varying age. Rollerfurling headsail system by Harken. Spinnaker rigging including pole. Sails include Mainsail with sail cover, Genoa with UV strip, storm jib and big boy
