1995 Moody 38 CC for sale, currently lying in Lagos, Portugal. Moody 38CC is a classic medium size cruising yacht, well built, well proportioned and maintained.
General Description.

White grp hull and deck with teak floor and seating in the cockpit. Wheel steering and roller reefing to the genoa and in-mast reefing to the main, all controlled from the cockpit. Accommodation is 7-berth with large double berth at the rear, 2 berths in the forward cabin, 1 passage berth cabin and 2 berths in the saloon. There are 2 heads (new 2017) with H and C showers and sinks. One of the features of a Moody 38 is the beam of 12ft 8 ins providing a very spacious saloon and galley and ample locker space. Interior finish is teak wood panels and flooring with new saloon upholstery 2018. The galley has double sink, fridge with new compressor control board 2016, 2-burner hob, toaster grill and oven. Space heating on board is from an Eberspacher 4kw heater and pressurised hot water from the engine or new immersion heater. Hull polished at least 3 times per year.
Mechanics. New (mains power) system and galvanic isolator. New 1000watt Loftus 2016 anchor winch. Engine is a well-maintained Volvo MD22l, 50HP diesel engine driving a fixed 3 blade propeller. Servicing in the past 2 years includes overhaul of exhaust system, new crank seal, water pump, fuel pump, engine heat exchanger, starter motor and gear box plus replacement of cam belt, circulation pump and 90 amp alternator. Gear box stripped serviced and rebuilt 2013.
Rigging and sails. New tri-radial 140% genoa 2017, main refurbished 2018. All the Standard rigging has been replaced in the last 7 years together with new guard rails and steering cables. The in-mast reefing bearings and gears have been replaced and all 8 winches overhauled – 2 x Lewmar ST48 genoa, 2 x Harken ST42 spinnaker, 2x Lewmar 10 mainsheet, 1 x ST30 coachroof line and 1 x Lewmar 24 halyard on mast. There is a mast-track spinnaker pole plus almost new full spinnaker with all the kit and a poleless 'Atak' device. New manual bilge pump 2018, two new electric bulge pumps 2016. 
Navigation and Electronics. At the navigation table a Furuno 10.4 inch 'Navnet 2' plotter (with 7 inch repeater plotter at the helm) coupled to Furuno radar fitted to the mast. Also coupled to the plotter is a Furuno Navtex Weatherfax and AIT 1000 Class B AIS transponder. Ship's radio is Icom VHF and command mic, plus a handheld emergency VHF transceiver. A rear gantry was erected in 2013 to house 2 x 160 watt PV panels plus a Rutland 914i wind turbine coupled to a 2017 Stirling 60 amp 4 stage smart battery charger and a new 100 amp starter battery.

There is a Stirling battery management system fitted in 2016 and a Stirling PRO battery splitter. New AGM 480 amp hour domestic batteries fitted May 2018. Autohelm ST7000 autopilot, Raymarine wind speed & direction, plus tridata log, speed and depth. Plastimo binnacle steering compass. 
Safety. 2011 Seasafe 'Cat B' 8-man liferaft (needs service), 4 fire extinguishers, electric and manual (internal and external) bilge pumps, jack stays, hard points in the cockpit, life jackets and lines, dan-buoy with drogue, throwing rings and lines and an EPERB, and a 50m drogue and bridle.

CQR main and kedge anchors, chain to warp .

There is a new gas regulator and gas alarm.

All craft original documentation held including proof of tax paid EU.

In addition there is a new 2.7m Excel dinghy with an air floor together with a Tohatsu 5 hp 2 stroke outboard,to be negociated seperate to craft deal .
