DESCRIPTION

Accommodation

The Broom 36 offers comfortable sleeping accommodation for up to 6 in two cabins plus the saloon, with generous headroom down below.

FORECABIN: Fitted with twin V berth, mirror, hanging locker to port, beneath berth storage, opening hatch to foredeck and two portlights.

GALLEY: U shaped galley to starboard equipped with an ENO three burner gas hob with separate oven and grill beneath, microwave oven, Electrolux front loading fridge, double stainless steel sink, ample storage and opening portlight.

HEADS: Separate compartment to port with Jabsco marine toilet, wash basin and shower.

SALOON: Featuring a large U-shaped seating area to starboard with storage and dining table, with large storage cupboards to port. Entertainment is provided by a TV and built in stereo system. Access via split curved staircase to the aft deck and owners cabin below, with steps down to galley forward.

OWNERS CABIN: Consisting of a large offset island double bed, vanity unit and mirror, ample hanging storage, opening hatch (with screen) to cockpit and opening portlight. Access to en suite fitted with sink, marine toilet and separate shower area.

GENERAL EQUIPMENT: Cream saloon upholstery (new 2018), washed oak effect soleboards in saloon and galley (new 2018) with complimenting curtains or blinds throughout. Diesel fired heating system. Hot and cold pressurised water system throughout via a calorifier with immersion coil.

EXTERIOR: Large aft cockpit area with helm bench seat which can face aft to increase seating around the cockpit table, with further seating aft and ample cockpit stowage in various lockers. Walk-through access to stern with steps down to the bathing platform.

Mechanical Systems

Located under the saloon sole, two Mercruiser D4.2L six cylinder 250hp turbo charged diesel engines. Freshwater cooled via heat exchanger. Twin Morse type single lever controls with electric start. Shaft drive to three-bladed propellers. Full engine instrumentation. Vetus bow thruster.

The engine hours are currently at 818 (as of July 2018) but will increase gradually throughout the season.

4 x 12v batteries charged via engine alternators. Shorepower system with ring mains, immersion coil for water heating and battery charger. Electrical distribution panel. 3000w inverter. Full LED cabin lighting.

Construction

Broom 36 built in 1995 by Broom to a design by Andrew Wolstenholme. White GRP hull, superstructure and decks with moulded non-slip surfaces. Wheel steering to twin spade rudders.

In 2018 the hull beneath the waterline was prepared and copper coated.
