DESCRIPTION

The Sabre 27 is a popular family cruising yacht with twin keels and shallow draft ideal for exploring local waters yet still capable of more serious sailing. Erbas is fitted out to a far higher standard than the original Sabre specification and her comfortable accommodation also offers a fridge, hot water and shorepower. Her impressive inventory includes a good sail wardrobe including recent main and genoa, electric anchor windlass, Raymarine chart plotter, AIS radar and modern Beta 20hp engine.

Accommodation

The Sabre 27 accommodation offers 5 berths in 2 cabins with 5'10" maximum headroom. Forepeak comprising of a double vee berth with infill, opening hatch to foredeck, eye level lockers and stowage areas. Large hanging locker to port over trotter box and heads compartment to starboard with marine toilet, basin and storage. Saloon with settee berth to port and larger settee to starboard with adjustable table. Excellent storage is provided in various lockers, shelves and racks whilst a stainless steel paraffin heater provides warmth for chilly evenings. L-shaped galley to port equipped with an Origo 2-burner spirit stove (new 2007), sink, fridge and storage. Quarter berth to starboard with chart table over. Pressurised hot and cold water supply throughout via a calorifier with immersion coil. High quality teak cabinetry throughout including soleboards, with blue cloth upholstery and cream linings.

Mechanical Systems

Located under the companionway, Beta BD20 20hp 3-cylinder marine diesel engine (new 2008). Freshwater cooled via heat exchanger. Morse type single lever controls with electric start. 68 Litre fuel tank. Shaft drive to fixed 3-bladed propeller.

The engine appears to be in very good condition, has been well maintained (last serviced August 2015) and has run for approximately 650hrs since new. 

Electrical Systems

3 x 12v Batteries (2 x 105ah domestic new 2015) charged via engine alternators. Shorepower system with ring mains, battery charger and immersion coil for water heating. Electrical distribution panel with Sterling battery monitoring system. Full cabin lighting.

Sails & Spars

Masthead bermudan sloop. Gold anodised aluminium mast and boom. Tabernacle. Whisker pole. Stainless steel standing rigging (new 2009). Terylene running rigging. Rotostay headsail furling system. 2 x Harken 32.2 self tailing sheet winches. 2 x Lewmar 7 ancillary winches. 2 x Antal W7 halyard winches.

Construction

Sabre 27 built by Marcon Ltd in 1974, fitted out separately to her original owners requirements and first launched in 1976. Blue painted GRP hull and off-white superstructure with moulded non-slip decks. Twin keels with encapsulated ballast. Tiller steering to skeg hung rudder.
