DESCRIPTION

'Metani' was built in 1983, based on the lines plan of John Alden's 'Malabar X' but with more freeboard and greater sheer to enhance her ocean sailing qualities. The design brief was to construct a traditionally built yacht capable of sailing to any part of the globe that could be handled by a small crew who were to be carried in as much safety and comfort as a yacht of her size could offer.

'Metani' cruised the world extensively with her original owners, from Australia to Antigua, via Sri Lanka and the Christmas Islands; to the Red Sea, Mediterranean and Canaries; and back again to the Caribbean and USA. She has also raced in many Classic Yacht Regattas in Antigua and won the Concours d’Elegance in her division

Her second and current owners bought her in 2007 and have cruised in her around the USA and Caribbean in the last decade, making many updates and improvements to her
