Capable of sleeping 7, the IP 32 has an amazingly spacious interior for a 32’ boat. Design features such as eleven opening ports, five overhead hatches, great headroom and Island Packet’s signature bulkhead-mounted table with storage behind enhance the bright and airy feeling of the interior space.
Starting forward, the master cabin has a large V-berth with a private door to the head and plenty of storage in drawers, cabinets and hanging locker. Next aft to port is the head with marine toilet, mirrored vanity with sink and large shower area.
Continuing aft, you enter the main salon. There is a straight settee to starboard and an L-shaped settee to port. The dining table is large and seats seven, yet it folds up and out of the way against the forward bulkhead, giving the salon an open feel when not in use. Behind the table is teak rack for holding bottles.
The galley is just aft of the straight settee and to starboard of the companionway. Opposite to port is the multi-purpose nav station with a unique hinged nav table. A comfortable, double quarter berth is located aft of the nav station. Storage is abundant throughout the interior.
The large U-shaped galley is to starboard of the companionway and features double stainless steel sinks, teak dish racks, cutlery drawers and cutting boards. It is safe and comfortable for the cook while under sail and is positioned smartly for handing food to the hungry crew in the cockpit.
Topside, the 32 continues the Island Packet tradition of large, unobstructed deck and cabin top surfaces. Full-length cabin top handrails and a recessed foredeck with raised bulwarks help ensure both safety and security while underway. The platform extends the sail plan forward, adding extra sail area, allowing for closer sheeting angles when sailing to windward. The cockpit features long, contoured seats with deep backrests providing plenty of room for seating or sleeping.
The manageable and versatile cutter rig allows a small crew to set a variety of well-balanced combinations in a wide range of wind and sea conditions. The genoa and self-tending staysail are fitted with roller furling systems. Control lines are lead aft to allow routine sail-handling from the comfort and security of the cockpit. The power to carry sail in a breeze, with excellent windward performance, is provided by the easily driven, long waterline hull form with its high resistance to heel and leeway. There are three easily-managed sails.
