The 14 Challenge 67 flotilla was designed to be safe and seaworthy in very poor conditions; capable of taking on a round the world voyage against the prevailing winds, which was the programme of the BT Global Challenge. Built in steel with a stainless steel deck, the Challenge 67 was designed to be extremely strong and easy to maintain. Prototype of the serie, Spirit of Conrad has been reengined with a 215 hp PERKINS Sabre (instead of 130 hp) in 2015; she benefits from a very strict maintenance programme: hull painting in 2016, replacement of sheet metal under the water tanks and bathrooms in 2020, electrical installation in 2018, WEBASTO heating in 2020 ... Fitted out with 6 cabins and two heads, she can accommodate 12 sailors in very good conditions of comfort for fast sailing off the beaten track.
