Westerly Tempest first launched in 1988, Miranda is a fast, safe cruising yacht of Westerly sound build quality and Ed Dubois sea-worthy design. Twin double aft cabins and forward heads provide comfortable accommodation while the spacious, well laid-out cockpit with sprayhood, dodgers, lazy-jacks and all sail-handling lines provides a safe sailing environment. Equipped with two chart plotters, AIS transponder, cockpit DSC VHF radio and autohelm, as well as dinghy & outboard, life raft and danbuoy, Miranda has a good inventory and has been very well maintained by the current and previous owners who have updated the majority of equipment and fittings within the past 6 years including: standing riggi
ng, running rigging, stack pack, rotostay furling, autohelm, instruments, cooker, cockpit tent and lots more.

Accommodation : The Westerly Tempest offers 6/7 berths in 3 cabins with aprox 6'3” max headroom. Heads forward in separate, large compartment with marine toilet (new pump 2015, seacocks serviced 2016), wash basin with cold water supply and ample stowage. Saloon with U-shaped seating to port (converts to double bed), single settee berth to starboard, stowage cupboards and drop leaf table. New curtains 2015.Chart table facing outboard to port with stowage. Galley to starboard with Neptune 2-burner cooker with grill and oven (2013), stainless steel sink with pressurized cold water (2015) and refrigerator. Two large double cabins aft with hanging lockers and stowage.

Mechanical and Rigging : Mechanical Systems: Volvo 2002 2-cylinder 18hp diesel engine, sea water cooled, serviced annually, approx 3800 hrs. New sound insulation 2010. Single lever controls with electric start. Shaft drive via P-bracket (serviced 2014) to folding 2-blade propeller (serviced 2016) with rope cutter. Rev counter.
Electrical Systems: 2 x Heavy Duty 12 volt batteries (2015 & 2016) charging from alternator and via ‘smart' charger.
Sails and Spars: Masthead rigged Bermudan sloop. Kemp silver adonized mast with single in-line spreaders, boom, spinnaker and whisker poles. Stainless steel standing rigging renewed 2010 with single backstay with Harken adjuster and Rotostay genoa furling system (2010). Terylene running rigging renewedwith slab reefing mainsail, all reefing lines run back to cockpit.
Winches:

Sails:
- Mainsail in good condition, serviced 2012.
- Large (150%) genoa also in good condition, new UV strip and serviced 2013.
