DESCRIPTION

The Vitech 49 is an excellent ealry example of the modern Sport Cruiser Design, This Vitech 49 has just had a recent survey and is ready to go with a new owner.

Hull Construction

  • Modified vee planning hull of moulded FRP.
  • The hull had a complete 5 coat preventitive osmosis treatment interlux gel shield  plus in 2011.

Hull Construction

  • Modified vee planning hull of moulded FRP.
  • The hull had a complete 5 coat preventitive osmosis treatment interlux gel shield  plus in 2011.
  • Topsides finished in white paint (Awlgrip, applied in 2010 / 2011) with a maroon painted bootstripe.

Accommodations

  • Sleeps 4 guests in 2 cabins plus 2 crew aft .
  • 3 heads, 2 with showers, separate galley, main saloon, cockpit and flybridge.
  • Swimplatform with shower.
  • From forward:- Master cabin with queen-size center line bed, seats, 2 hanging lockers, drawers and lockers, en suite, head with separate shower compartment.
  • Next to starboard is a twin berth cabin, hanging locker, drawers and lockers and with head and shower forwards.
  • Opposite is the fully equipped galley, at the galley is a two burner stove with grill area and central electric extractor;
  • Steps lead up to the spacious main saloon, which has an L-shaped settee and table to starboard, aft of the interior steering consul and navigation area. Cocktail Cabinet, glass and tableware cabinets, and an entertainment centre to port.
  • The interior has been refitted to a high standard and has white painted panels to vertical surfaces, with satin varnished hardwood and maroon painted panels to burgundi furnishings and trims. Flooring is satin varnished hardwood strips, headlining is a mixture of painted panels, satin varnished hardwood, and padded vinyl to the forward cabin; galley and head countertops are satin varnished hardwood; upholstery is white vinyl.

Air Conditioning

  • Single 220 volt air conditioning compressor located at the engine compartment supplies air conditioning units to the salon, forward cabin, and crew cabin.
  • A redundant air conditioning unit beneath the outboard bed at the starboard cabin is no longer in use.
  • 110-volt unit separate from the centrally supplied system is located beneath the inboard bunk at the starboard cabin.

Engines

  • 2 x Caterpillar 3126 turbocharged 6-cylinder diesel engines, in good cosmetic condition. Both engines are reported by the owner to have been obtained from another vessel and installed to this vessel in 2010.
  • Port Engine:
  • Engine hours as read at meter: 21 (note: meters were renewed when engines installed, true hours are estimated by owner to be 900).
  • Electrical cabling to the engine is in serviceable condition where visible and seen.
    Engine controls are hydraulic by Hynautic, with engine synchroniser.
  • Transmission is by Twin Disc, model 507.
  • There is a belt driven 12-volt alternator.
  • Engine controls are hydraulic by Hynautic, with engine synchroniser.
  • Engine mounts are conventional onto steel frames onto FRP beds.
  • Starboard Engine:
  • Engine hours as read at meter: 6 (note: meters were renewed when engines installed, true hours are estimated by owner to be 90).
  • There is a Racor water separator / fuel filter and engine mounted fuel filter.
  • Transmission is by Twin Disc, model 507.
  • There is a dual-belt driven 12-volt high output alternator.
  • Electrical cabling to the engine is in serviceable condition where visible and seen.
  • Engine controls are by cable.
  • Engine mounts are conventional onto steel frames onto FRP beds.

Electronics

  • DC 12 volts.
  • Each engine has a dedicated 8D lead acid starting battery located in a box aft of their respective engines.
  • Generator starting battery is Group 24 lead acid.
  • Service batteries are 4 x Group 31 lead acid, located beneath flooring midships.
  • Switch for service batteries at DC panel, switch for engine start batteries at engine compartment, switch for generator battery at engine compartment, switch to parallel engine start batteries to service batteries is at the aft of the engine compartment.
  • DC electrical panel to the port side of the lower steering station has 33 x DC breakers, analogue DC voltmeter and analogue DC ammeter.
  • Engine alternators. Heart Interface Freedom 15 inverter charger, 75A charger output.
  • AC 110 volts / AC 220 volts. Transformer at engine compartment converts shore power at 220 volts down to 110 volts for some appliances.
  • 125V 30A shore power inlet at starboard transom.
  • Shared AC / DC panel has 14 x AC breakers and an analogue AC voltmeter and analogue AC ammeter.
  • Shore / generator switch originally fitted at the panel is missing, there is a shore / generator selector switch.
  • Dual US-style 110 volt outlets to each head, each cabin, and the galley.
  • Heart Interface Freedom 15 inverter / charger at engine compartment, 1500 watt inverter output. A separate 800 watt inverter is beneath the lower steering station to power the computer at the helm.

Navigation

  • Standard Horizon GX2150 Matrix AIS VHF Radio.

Generator

  • Westerbeke four-cylinder diesel engine generator, 20kVa output at 220 volts, located at the aft end of the engine compartment in a custom housing.
  • This generator was obtained used and installed in 2010.
  • 1000 hours well maintained and replaced in 2010.

Tankage

  • Aluminium fuel tanks outboard of each engine at the engine compartment, secure with no indication of leakage.
  • Fuel shut off valves at a manifold adjacent to the Racor water separators/ fuel filters.
  • Single aluminium water tanks at the aft of the engine compartment.

Steering System

  • Stainless steel wheel at either the flybridge or lower helm station drives its own hydraulic pump, powering a hydraulic ram at the lazarette, which drives a stainless steel tie bar connecting the two rudders at the stainless steel tiller arms connected to the stainless steel rudder stocks.
  • Visibility from the upper helm station is very good.

Deck Gear

  • There is a short bow platform carrying the main anchor, behind which is a chain locker with two lifting lids.
  • A large hatch is just forward of two sunbathing cushions and side decks either side of the superstructure lead to the aft deck where there is seating to port and starboard and aft and a fishing ‘fighting chair’ centrally fixed.
  • Access to crew quarters is via a lifting seat lid at the centre aft, and a stainless steel tubular ladder with FRP steps is on the port side and leads up to the flybridge.
  • The aft deck is covered with a stainless steel tube framed maroon canvas bimini in new condition.
  • 6 x mooring cleats and 2 x fairleads at the bow.
  • Single aluminium framed acrylic hatch at the foredeck.
  • Stainless steel tube pulpit continues aft along each side deck to form a guard rail, with a PVC coated stainless steel wire lifeline below.
  • Removable davits with winch mechanism to each davit.

Stern Gear

  • Two Four-bladed bronze propellers.
  • Two Stainless steel shafts.
  • Two Stainless steel struts.
  • FRP spade rudders, seen to be fair, port rudder has recently been rebuilt.
  • Rudder Mountings contained within the hull, rudders operate smoothly with no excessive lateral movement.

Anchorage

  • Main anchor is stainless steel Bruce, 44lb / 20kg, shank is slightly bent but anchor is serviceable.
  • Main anchor rode is 3/8” galvanised chain in good order. Anchor to chain shackle is not secured with locking wire.
  • Second anchor is Danforth-type with 3/8” galvanised chain in good order.
  • Windlass is Lewmar vertical with 2 x footswitches.

Safety Equipment

  • Approximately 30 lifejackets on board; a suitable approved lifejacket must be carried for each member of the crew.
  • Lifering with light at aft deck.
  • Life Raft Not currently on board, How the liferaft is delivered and is currently awaiting customs clearance.
  • 5lb powder ABC extinguishers at the salon, galley, crew quarters, starboard cabin, forward cabin, all gauges reading green and labelled as serviced February 2014.
    2 x Fireboy automatic extinguishers at the engine compartment, labelled as serviced February 2014.
  • 4 x handheld red, marked expiry January 2015.
  • 2 x handheld orange smoke, marked expiry December 2014.
  • Launcher and 4 x aerial red cartridges, marked expiry January 2015.
  • 2 x centrifugal type 12-volt bilge pumps with float switches, one to main bilge and one to the bilge at the crew cabin, both operating. Manual pump at crew cabin.
