Marine Trader 40 Europa - 1978 - £52,500
This 40ft trawler yacht offers plenty of living space, with a large main saloon and equally large galley to port, with two double cabins forward.
The attractive ‘Europa’ styling features a covered side & aft decks and a large flybridge area.
A comprehensive refit was carried out by the current owner in 2015/2016 to prepare this vessel for a single-handed Round Britain trip.
Overall she would provide a comfortable, and capable, long-range cruising yacht or an equally comfortable live aboard yacht.
The accommodation features a roomy saloon, galley and helm position all at deck level, with a passageway forward leading to a double cabin on the port side with a heads compartment to starboard with separate shower area, and a twin vee berth cabin in the bows.
This layout would lend itself to being a comfortable live aboard vessel.
Eberspacher warm air cabin heating with 7 day timer
Please note: Currently there are no saloon or cabin berth cushions fitted.
From the aft deck, a sliding door leads to:
Saloon, U shaped seating area to port and space to starboard for additional seating.
Galley to port with ample work surfaces and stowage cupboards under & over. Stainless steel 1 1/2 bowl sink unit with drainer.
Plastimo Neptune two burner gas cooker with oven and grill. Microwave oven inset into eyeline cupboard. Hoover Dynamic Domestic Washer Dryer. Compact Dishwasher fitted under sink unit. Freestanding compact fridge.
Helm Position: to starboard with sliding door to side deck. Comprehensive array of engine and navigational instruments. Roomy navigational area for traditional navigation.
Steps down to Passageway forward
Master cabin: To port with Double berth, hanging locker and locker with drawers.
Heads compartment: To Starboard with electric toilet, stainless steel basin with pressurised hot & cold water supply, separate tiled shower area.
Forward Cabin: Twin Vee Berth with drawers and stowage under, hanging locker.
GRP Hull & Deck, built by Chein Hwa Mfg Co, Taiwan in approx 1978
After many years cruising the eastern seaboard of America including the great lakes and intercoastal waterways was based in Florida where she was bought by an English chap who shipped her to the UK in 2008.
On arrival in the UK in early 2008, she was re-engined with very low hour replacement engines supplied by main dealers Hendy Ford in Cosham
Fully compliant with EU RCD standards - Post Construction Conformity report carried out in 2014 by HPI CE-Proof
A comprehensive refit was commenced by the current owner in 2015/2016 to prepare this vessel for a single-handed Round Britain trip, this refit included:
Twin Ford Lehman 2725e 120hp 6 Cylinder naturally aspirated diesels, coupled to Borg Warner Velvet Drive gearboxes, shaft drive to 3 blade props
Engines were supplied by Hendy Ford, Cosham in January 2008 having been converted to Marine Specification from previous use as standby generator engines ashore at Romford.
Since fitment of these replacement engines, they have probably run for less than 500 hours total - the engine hour meters fitted indicate around 385 hours run since fitment of the gauges.
