DESCRIPTION

Remarks :

Beautifully appointed and maintained Sigma 33 OOD. Vessel was ashore early 2020 for polish and antifoul. Engine was replaced in 2013 and has completed 530 serviced hours.Standing rigging replaced 2013 and rechecked in 2018. Vessel underwent a substantial refit in 2013 with new interior cushions and an internal varnish. The hull was gelshielded and the keel bolts drawn to check the condition. She has been lightly used and raced over the last few years but has always been admired on this coast. 

Would suit a cruising couple who want a bit of performance or a young team who want to compete competitively at club level.

Accommodation

Below decks is bright and airy. The boat had an extensive refit in 2013 when she was rewired internal varnish and completely reupholstered. The saloon is entered via the companionway. To port is the chart table navigation station with chart table, switch panel and electronic navigation aids. Immediately aft is a sizeable pilot/quarter berth with storage below.

Moving forward is a L-Shaped seating area with off set saloon table. This area will convert to a double if required. The table has a drop leaf on the port side which when raised can comfortably sit seven people. There are cave lockers behind the starboard settee and beneath the berth, Forward of the saloon bulkhead is the large heads compartment with sea toilet, mirror and a sink unit with manual pumped fresh water.. Opposite is a wet and dry storage locker with zip up closures.

In the bow is the V-berth with two full sized berths. These can be converted to a double by using an infill cushion. Below the berths are sail bins which allow the sails to be stored neatly between races.This cabin is fully lined and has 12V lighting and an opening deck hatch for ventilation.

Returning to the saloon and concentrating on the port side, is the aforementioned port side settee/berth. Behind this is an additional pilot berth which can also be used for storage. Further aft and opposite the chart table is the galley with gas fuelled Bainbridge Neptune 4500 oven with 2-burner hob and grill. Stainless steel sink with manual fresh water pump. Top loading cool box. Plentiful storage.

12V lighting throughout. Opening deck hatches for ventilation. Eberspacher cabin heating keeps the boat warm and dry.

Mechanical :
Construction

GRP constructed yacht with white hi gloss gelcoat topsides and smart red and gold vinyl striping. GRP decks with balsa core finished in grey moulded non slip. Flush fore and side decks to enable easy access for crew during racing maneuvers. Raised accomodation deck with panoramic windows. These along with the deck hatches allow lots of natural light into the boat.

Cast iron fin keel, through bolted and fully faired to minimise drag. External hull below the waterline has been epoxy treated with International Gelshield. This was completed in 2013.Under water areas antifouled in March 2020. Hull topsides polished. Keel bolts were draw, inspected and replaced. Stainless steel stemhead fitting with anchor roller. Aluminium toe rails with inbuilt fairleads. Large capacity, self draining anchor well with lid. Stainless steel bow and stern rails joined by stanchions and double set of guardwires. 

Enclosed cockpit with attractive teak grating sole. Wooden tiller attached to stainless steel stock. Rudder bearings replaced. Large cockpit locker to starboard. Separate drained and vented gas locker with two bottle capacity.  Mainsheet track with 6-wheel, ball raced traveller within easy reach of helm for greater control when sailing short handed. Easy endless mainsheet with 3:1-6:1 purchase.

Engines & Electrics

The vessel had her engine replaced in 2013. The engine of choice is a Volvo Penta D-1 series, 3-cylinder, 19hp diesel. Reduction gearbox driving stainless steel shaft and bronze, Gori folding propeller replaced in 2016. Engine start panel situated within the starboard locker. Engine has completed 530 serviced hours. Most recent service was in march 2020 ready for the season. Single lever engine control mounted in cockpit with forward and reverse gearing. 

Bank of 2X12V batteries providing engine start and domestic power. These were replaced in 2019 and have a rotary style selector switch. batteries are recharged via the engine alternator.

Sails & Rigging

Sloop rigged yacht with fractional, deck stepped aluminium spars. Boom with sail cover and boat name. Solid rod kicker with 24:1 Harken gear. Vessel is currently rigged for fast cruising with a roller furling headsail system. Mainsail and genoa are by Sobstadt and are in excellent condition.

Stainless steel standing rigging replaced in 2013. The rigging was revisited in 2018 and given a clean bill of health. Adjustable backstay with tensioner. Set of 6X lewmar 2-speed winches for genoa, spinnaker and halyard operation. The Genoa sheet winches are self tailing. All running rigging in good order and is washed annually and replaced on a rolling basis.

Vessel rigged for spinnaker use including halyards and pole. Spinnaker track on mast. 

Sails include Main, Genoa, Storm sail and spinnaker
