This Hallberg-Rassy 36, JACANA, has had 2 owners from new and spent her first 12 years on Lake Constance in Switzerland before moving to the UK south coast (Solent) in 2007.
The current (second owner) then cruised to the Mediterranean in 2008/2010 before returning to the UK via the French rivers and canals and also cruised to Holland in both 2015 and 2016.
JACANA is moored in Portsmouth harbour and is in very good condition throughout. She has been regularly laid up ashore every winter.

The interior is finished in mahogany with a matt varnish finish. Grey/blue carpets, blue curtains and grey upholstery with 6 matching cushions. Teak floor with inlaid holly stripes, matt varnish finish.
Carpet fitted with press studs to prevent slipping and allow easy removal. There are inspection openings in the floor.
Ceilings forward and aft are lined. Curtains are on all portholes and all skylights. Mosquito screens for skylights and all opening windows and there is also a mosquito screen to replace the upper washboard.
The headroom is 1.91 metres in the saloon. Good storage is available in all areas of the boat.
All larger cupboard doors are louvered and all boards under berth cushions have ventilation holes. Mahogany slatting is located in the cavity spaces behind the backrests of settees and berths for good ventilation. The hull is insulated with foam against heat and cold.
SALOON:
A solid mahogany mast support is fitted next to the main bulkhead. Settee berths either side with lifting backrests to provide additional width for sleeping and stowage behind when berths not in use.
Four cupboards and two sets of bookshelves are in the main saloon along with under seat cupboards for further stowage. There is a permanent mahogany drop-leaf table with bottle stowage in the opening centre section.
Reading lights throughout and dorade ventilators in the ceiling, grab rails and a skylight and opening portholes.
GALLEY:
To starboard with double stainless steel sink. Hot and cold pressurised fresh water with foot pump as reserve. 12 volt FRIGOMATIC refrigeration unit (new compressor in 2011) in insulated ice box with keel cooler.
OPTIMUS 2 burner hob with oven and gimballed with fiddle rails and locking device. Stowage above, below and behind work surfaces and drawers for cutlery, food etc. Working surface in white with strong all around fiddle rail.
FORWARD CABIN:
Two berths with ample stowage above and below for sails and other equipment. Infill cushion to create one large double berth. Hanging wardrobe and side cupboard with drawers. A hatch and opening porthole provide ventilation and light.
TOILET COMPARTMENT:
Bulkheads and lockers in white laminate. Watertight shower stall, teak grating, china washbasin and large mirror. Mixer tap drained by electric pump directly overboard without going into bilges.
JABSCO pump action toilet (pump replaced in 2016). Stainless steel holding tank with gravity discharge. Various cupboards and ventilation through ventilator, opening porthole and hatch. Headroom 6 ft 2 ins (1.87 metres).
CHART TABLE:
Forward facing lift up chart table top allowing for storage of charts. Navigator’s seat lifts up to allow stowage. There is a 2 door rubber sealed access to the engine room off the walk through (removable doors) and there is a cupboard forward of the engine compartment beneath the stairs. On the port side behind the navigator’s seat there are 2 hanging lockers and cupboards. Electrical switch panel with fuel and water gauges and voltmeter.
AFT CABIN:
Single berth to port and wider berth to starboard. There is a triangular infill cushion to make the area one whole berth. Stowage beneath for batteries, steering cables and emergency tiller. Lockers and shelving above berths and a hanging locker. Reading lamps, opening portholes and opening skylight.
