ABOUT MAKO

Mako, the title has gained its popularity as boats that are created to cope with all that the sea can throw at them. Mako was invented by the Navy veteran, Robert Schwebke at the beginning of the 1960s, when fibreglass boat-building was in its outset. He sketched a boat along with Pete Purdue that would be spacious enough for the pair to fish, whilst being a rugged, fibreglass, centre-console proficient of going offshore at an affordable price. After the boat was finished and noticed by a friend, he ordered one, then another and thus Mako was born. Mako soon secured fame for hardcore fishing machines that could manage unfavourable conditions and keep the occupants protected. Schwebke proved his concept, by taking a 23-foot Mako outboard across the Gulf Stream to fish Bimini in the Bahamas, as it was the first outboard of its size to do so.

Mako is under the ownership of the White River Marine Group headed by Johnny Morris but continues to uphold Schwebke’s primary concept. Mako adapted a whole program of product evolution with state-of-the-art materials, feedback reports, and real-world testing to generate a lineup great enough to carry the Shark logo with every boat. The focus on research and development was more and the new line of Mako boats exhibits that in quality, ride and fishability. Right from the original design, each boat is crafted with the most exquisite materials and components and the quality control experts scrutinise the boat to assure perfection. All Mako boats are equally impressive with all top-quality fishing features. Mako boats have been appreciated various times for superiority in customer gratification by the National Marine Manufacturers Association. Mako has been crafting long-lasting, comfortable and highly fishable inshore and offshore Saltwater fishing boats for bluewater boat families and hardcore sport anglers.

Mako prides themselves on producing boats that are stronger than they need to be and proceed to promote new technologies and techniques that enhance both inshore and offshore experiences. Their meticulous planning and construction processes result in an exceptional fit and finish. Every element of the boat is of superior features and long-term durability that results in remarkably tough parts that perform as good as they look. Every Mako boat is backed by the best factory warranty in the business and Mako's family of boats is supported by the stability of the world's largest boat builder.
