DESCRIPTION

SOUTHERN ACCENT is hull #48 of the East Bay 38 Series from Grand Banks. The 38 was the first of the East Bay models introduced by Grand Banks in 1993. One of the best running hulls ever designed by Ray Hunt she was an overnight success and spawned an entire series of East Bays from the venerable builder of the finest Trawler Yachts in the world at that time. Her soft ride at any speed is now legendary and the benchmark for speed purposed Downeast style yachts.

Owned by a gentleman who purchased her from a knowledgeable and experienced yachting couple and then spared no expense in renewing and updating her, SOUTHERN ACCENT has been maintained in top condition. Recent maintenance and notable upgrades include:

•   $16,000 spent on machinery services incl. Generator fully serviced & updated

•   CAT 2000 Hour Service done @ 1550 hrs. incl. Aftercoolers and Turbos – 27 Hours since

•   All Deck Non-Skid surfaces Repainted & Teak Toe-Rail wooded and re-varnished

•   Garmin 4210 GPS plotter w/18-mile Radar array, chart plotter, depth, speed

•   Custom Pilothouse Bimini Stamoid top with side curtains and Philfertex sun covers

•   Custom Aft Cockpit Stamoid awning and moveable Phifertex sun shades

•   St. Croix custom removable Dinghy Davits

•   MUCH, MUCH MORE – See Full Specifications for Complete Details

From her 18 degree deadrise deep-V bottom to her Flag Blue hull to the Oyster White superstructure with recently redone Moondust contrasting non-skid decks she glistens even on a cloudy day. Her stainless steel safety and hand rails are polished and her raised teak toe rail is varnished to perfection. She is cool and comfortable even on the hottest of days beneath her cockpit extended cover, on the custom air-conditioned PH helm deck or below in the roomy salon, galley and cabin spaces.

SOUTHERN ACCENT is offered for sale due to a sudden change in the owners cruising plans and represents a unique opportunity to own a legend at an affordable price. As previously stated no expense was spared while preparing her for a year and a half dream journey. All work was completed a few months before the change in plans.

Whether your dream is to do the Great loop, cruise the US coastal waters from Tarpon Springs to Maine discovering quaint harbors and hidden coves or to explore the Bahamas, Exumas and Down Islands, SOUTHERN ACCENT is standing tall and at the ready.
