DESCRIPTION

'Storm Wave' is a great example of the popular Elan 295. An ideal boat for Solent sailing this Elan 295 is set up for both racing or cruising.

Owners Comments:

This yacht has had only 3 years of actual sailing use from new and has undergone a major refit of the principal fittings and safety equipment over the last year. There is a large inventory of safety gear, including life jackets. An extensive inventory of other equipment is on board.

Separate sets of cruising and racing sails. 8 sails in all. There is a general purpose spinnaker, a new heavy reaching spinnaker, solent jib and storm jib. There is also a second reinforced halyard sheave now fitted to take asymetric spinnaker or code zero.

The history of this yacht is that it has been stored on land for 17 years of its life, making the active hull life only about 3 years. This is reflected in the engine use of 150 hours. A recent full survey (2017) is available. Small Ships Register part III since 2004.

Full renovation after storage was started March 2017 with replacing all standing and running rigging. Most of the electronics and electrical equipment replaced. New batteries, heavy 12v cabling and electronic charging circuits fitted. Engine serviced. New gearbox fitted. New alternator fitted and starter refurbished. Mast reinforced and extra sheaves added for code zero or asymmetric cruising spinnaker. New tinted acrylic hatch and washboards fitted to let more light into main cabin. Extended rudder factory fitted. Some cosmetic works are all that is required to make this yacht look really good.
