The Riva Malibu 42 is a craft displaying real Italian flair and style, Fun Gee is presented with a new survey, and full under hull preparation and also benefits from an engine rebuild in 2011. She has been valeted throughout and her art deco interior fitments now are presented superbly. Fitted with new Engine batteries and available at an attractive price

Layout

EXTERIOR

From the bow the Riva offers an amazing amount of space to the forward deck which is generally flat with space for sunbed cushions to be located amidships, these are in two sections and can be stored inside the cabin. Flat side decks run port and starboard of approximately 12” wide at the bow decreasing to 7” at the stern. These are surrounded by stainless steel rails from the windscreen forward and then adequate hand holds are fitted to the cabin sides’ port and starboard. Upon entrancing the cockpit at the stern a stainless rail surrounds the cockpit giving a safe feel to this region. Amidships access is gained to the bathing platform which is of Teak grated design and approximately 7’ wide and2’ deep. The cockpit is fully teak covered and a ladder leads to the fly bridge to the port side and stainless steel framed sliding doors lead to the cabins. Two hatches lift below the cockpit floor giving access to the lazarette, engines, batteries and tank spaces. From the aft cockpit via a 7 rung ladder access is gained to the fly bridge which features a centrally mounted twin helm seat, giving all around visibility from the second helm station. Aft of the seat a large sunbathing area with a centrally located foldable stainless steel mast upon which all navigation aerials are mounted.

INTERIOR FROM THE BOW

FORWARD CABIN

A spacious area with two V shape berths each of 6’03 x 2’ 06”. Aft and to port a seat with a deep wardrobe aft and small storage locker. Adjacent to starboard a full height mirror. The cabin is lit by art deco lamps to port and starboard and hidden lighting within the side locker storage areas. Port lights are fitted to port and starboard and these feature stainless steel blackout shutters for privacy. Forward a opening hatch gives access to the fore deck.

HEADS/SHOWER

Located to the port side of the craft with a door to the lower corridor. Moulded in Blue GRP and fitted with a toilet which has an integrated wooden lid and closure becoming a seat for when the shower is being used. The wash basin is all fully moulded as is the storage region alongside this. Four lights over the basin give good light to the room and an opening port light again featuring stainless steel blackout

GALLEY

The attention to detail of the construction of the Riva is evident in the fit out of the galley which is located to port with adequate storage and cupboards. A deep rectangular single bowl stainless sink with a two ring hob fuelled by 240 v. fitted with a stainless steel cover. Beneath this a fridge with ice compartment

SIDE CABIN

Situated to starboard opposite the galley the side cabin is fitted with two cross over single berths each being 6’02” x 2’04”. In addition the cabin is fitted with a ½ height hanging wardrobe, port light and small storage cupboard. Full headroom and adequate changing space make this a very useable second cabin

SALOON

Opposite, to starboard, a sideboard with cupboards and drawers. Ahead of this the master helm station with leather helm chair with excellent visibility all around. Separate twin lever controls full navigational aids and large windscreens all stainless steel framed make the entire saloon area a comfortable cabin in any weather. Twin fully glazed sliding doors open to the cockpit. The flooring being removable for major engine works when required. Daily access being via the aft cockpit.

ENGINE ROOM

The Riva Malibu is all about her sea keeping speed and style. The engines on Fungee were removed and fully overhauled in 2011 and this can be seen from their current presentation.
