DESCRIPTION

Princess 385 – 1986 - £44,950 

A good example of the popular Princess 385. The Princess 385s are known for their excellent sea keeping ability and build quality. 
This boat has been re-engined in 2001 with twin Volvo Penta 200hp diesel engines - recorded engine hours currently (Feb 2019) reading a maximum of 494 hours. The engines have been professionally serviced in February 2019 in readiness for the season.
The main saloon's seating has been re-upholstered, as have the cockpit and flybridge's vinyl cushions. The flybridge and cockpit decks have been re-sheathed using synthetic materials. Recent covers and much new LED lighting has been fitted.

Just relaunched after a winter ashore, engines fully serviced professionally and freshly antifouled ready for the new season, and a new owner! 

Accommodation

The Princess 385 offers six berths in two cabins and the saloon.
A diesel-fired cabin heating system is fitted.
Large forward cabin: with an island double berth, storage cupboards and opening portlights, en-suite heads compartment.
Two separate heads compartments: each with a marine flushing, manual toilet, wash basin and shower.
Guest cabin: Located to starboard and fitted with two single berths, cupboard and opening portlights.
Galley: Fitted to port, and located beneath the saloon's forward windscreens; the galley is “U” shaped in layout, with twin stainless steel sinks, large fridge, four burner gas cooker with oven and grill, microwave and storage compartments. Crockery and cutlery to be included in the sale.
 
Large main saloon: with a starboard side helm position with bench seat; port side settee, starboard side “L” shaped settee with saloon table. Cream leather upholstery and toning curtains. A Radio/CD player.  The LCD TV is fitted with a TV antenna.

Mechanical And Electrical Systems

Twin Volvo Penta TAMD 41P, 200hp turbo diesel engines - installed new in 2001, drive  three-bladed propellers via conventional shafts. P-bracket cutless bearings replaced 2/17. The vessel is fitted with hydraulically operated trim tabs.
Starboard recorded engine hours (as at 02/19): 494.
Port recorded engine hours (as at 02/19): 462.

12V DC systems serviced by five (total) 12 volt batteries lead acid batteries. 2 off 86 A/hr engine cranking batteries date from 05/17. 'Services' battery bank date from 2015. anchor windlass battery of unknown age. All batteries charged by the engine-mounted alternators and 220-240V AC battery charger.
240V AC systems serviced by shore power connection and include hot water immersion heater, battery charger and 13 Amp outlets throughout the boat.
Shore power cable included.
Some LED lighting has been fitted by way of replacement of the original filament bulb fittings, including the external running lights.

History &Amp; Construction

'Miss Chief' was purchased by the current owner approximately four years ago. Subsequent engine maintenance has been carried out by the Volvo Penta appointed dealer for the Torbay area, and (since May '17) by Promarine UK Ltd in Plymouth. A full file of documentary evidence is available for inspection at our office.  

In January 2017, the hull's topsides were professionally vinyl wrapped, using pastel grey coloured vinyl, together with a navy blue 'waterline' styling stripe to match a painted window-line - all for cosmetic purposes (a subsequent survey states .."there were no areas found of structural defects or repair."
