The Normandy was a popular design in it’s day, a successor and larger sister to the most famous small yacht of all time, the Vertue. The Normandy offered safe and reliable sailing for 4 crew in a very manageable size of yacht with a respectable turn of speed and very acceptable windward performance. Judging by the yard and the materials used in the construction, this was not a cut price yacht in her day but a quality build that cost someone a deal of money. She has survived the years remarkably well but she has not been commissioned for the last 2 years and now needs a new owner with some time, energy and a little knowledge to get her back on the water. She had a refit in 2007 when reportedly £14,000 was spent on the yacht! A 2013 survey report is very detailed and will make a good program on which to carry out the refit, most of which is servicing and cosmetics.
