DESCRIPTION

Her designer Jarl Lindblom succeeded with his Metre boat designs and PETER with her narrow beam and fine ends hints at the Rule. Acquired by her current owner to win classic regattas, she has been frankly impressive with a good list of victories. She is now priced realistically as something of a project given the need for some structural and finishing work.

History


Built for a Swedish owner in 1939, PETER immediately won the Round Gotland Race that year. After passing through several hands the yacht arrived in Italy around 2005 and underwent a partial refit at the Argentario yard in Porto Santo Stefano. Results under her current ownership:
- Won the 2009 Overall Panerai Classic Yacht Trophy and the C.I.M Cup
- Not raced in 2010

In 2011 won all the races she entered:
- 1st Overall Puig Trophy Barcelona
- 1st Overall Trofeo Islas Baleares Palma de Mallorca
- 1st Overall Trofeo Conde de Barcelona Palma de Mallorca
- 1st Overall Panerai Trophy Mahon

In 2013 Peter won the Puig Vela Classica Barcelona

Construction


- Carvel single planked mahogany on oak frames
- Mostly bronze screw and same stainless steel fastenings
- Full keel with lead ballast

Observations on Current Condition


- The boat shows some weakness along the wooden keel length fore and aft
- During the refit in 2009 several frames were substituted and others sistered
- Work to frame ends needed
- Work to iron floors needed
- Mast step has been rebuilt
- Chain plates are recent
- Hull to be painted
- Bright work to be varnished
