DESCRIPTION

Price just reduced!

Owner says that all reasonable offers will be considered.

The C&C 35 MKI (Mark 1) has a well-earned reputation for being a fast and handsome racer/cruiser that still looks and sails as well (or better) than many newer boats in its class... even after 40+ years. It's true that good looks and good sailing performance never go out of style.

Unlike the newer MKII (Mark 2) which is quite a bit heavier, the C&C 35 MKI performs exceptionally well in light air which makes her a dream to sail on those beautiful "blue sky" days. The C&C 35 continues to place well as a club & distance racer and has a large and enthusiastic owners group.

Long-time racing sailor & instructor Steve Purdy describes the C&C 35 MKI as “easy to handle and comfortable for two to cruise, but still fast enough to enjoy racing and to be competitive”.

This particular C&C 35 (Hull #90) has been owned and enthusiastically sailed (but never abused) for the past 10 years by a USCG Master and professional captain. However, it is now time for this boat to find a new owner because professional and family obligations leave little time for pleasure sailing. As difficult as it is to part with such a true and loyal boat, the owner will consider all reasonable CASH purchase offers.

The hull construction is typical for her age: Simple and strong, with relatively thick, hand-laid, solid fiberglass. The deck is fiberglass and balsa composite. The toe rail is aluminum - very functional and low maintenance!

She boasts an array of winches, a 140% Genoa, standard battened mainsail with two reef points, and a newer 150% drifter. Sails and rigging are reported to be in good condition. The boat is rigged for a spinnaker but does not include one.

Ground tackle consists of a 33 lb Danforth (12’ of 3/8 chain & 150’ of ¾” line) and a 30 lb CQR as a spare.

With an air draft of 51 feet (including VHF antenna), this boat easily slides under the Julia Tuttle Causeway just north of Miami. This, combined with a 5’ 3” draft makes her very ICW-friendly.

The original Atomic 4 has been well maintained and continues to start & run flawlessly. A new water pump was installed in 2017. Engine hours are unknown due to a non-functioning hour meter. The owner is willing and able to provide professional guidance to a buyer that wishes to re-power this boat with a diesel engine… Several diesel re-power options are available locally at a reasonable cost.

A large portlight over the saloon makes the interior bright and inviting even on overcast days. The saloon and V-Berth are uncluttered and comfortable. Headroom and storage are generous throughout. A three-burner stove with oven (propane) and functional ice-box are located to STBD in the galley.

The boat is trimmed in Pacific Blue Sunbrella, including the Bimini, Companionway cover, Genoa sacrificial, and interior cushions.

Overall, this C&C 35 is in good shape for her age. Though a new owner may want to invest some “sweat equity” to keep her looking her best, she is a very functional and inviting boat in her present condition.

There is a salt-water Jabsco manual head and a pressurized fresh water system. Sailing instruments are older and probably due for replacement. There is no battery charger installed but a portable battery charger is included in the sale. There is no hot water heater or windlass.
