DESCRIPTION

Dawn is a sought-after lift keel version of the popular Beneteau First 29, with a shoal draft capable of taking the ground in appropriate anchorages, whilst still providing sparkling sailing performance. Offering a large cockpit and spacious interior for their class, they are often compared favourably to rivals like the Sadler 29 and Moody 28. Still in her original ownership from new, she has clearly been lightly used, well maintained, and is in good condition for her age.

Construction

Beneteau First 29 built by Beneteau in 1986. White GRP hull, superstructure, and decks with moulded non-slip surfaces. Cast iron keel box with lifting keel (upgraded to new type lifting mechanism 2013). Tiller steering to twin spade hung rudders. Self-draining cockpit. Anodised aluminium toe rail.

Dawn has clearly benefitted from regular careful maintenance, and has only been cruised locally for short seasons since new. As a result, although there are signs of her age in the windows and some areas below decks, she is in far better cosmetic condition than we usually ever see at this age. With these areas attended to, and upgrades to suit her next owners usage, in our opinion she is likely to be the best around.

The company normally acts as brokers for the vendor who unless otherwise stated, is not selling in the course of a business. Whilst every care has been taken in the preparation of these particulars the correctness is not guaranteed and they are intended as a guide only and do not constitute a part of any contract. A prospective buyer is strongly advised to check these particulars and where appropriate and at his own expense to employ a qualified marine surveyor to carry out a survey and/or to have an engine trial conducted which if conducted by us shall not imply any liability on our part.

General note on safety equipment: Any safety equipment such as liferaft, fire extinguishers and flares etc., are usually personal to the current owner(s) and if being left on board as part of the sale of a used vessel, may require routine servicing, replacement, or changing to meet a new owner’s specific needs.
