DESCRIPTION

A true sailing thoroughbred...

FOREIGNER IS FOR SALE!

Present owner has sailed her for the last 24 years - living aboard and cruising the Caribbean waters. Seller states: ""The concept of new ownership is a 'walk-on, walk-off' arrangement with current owners taking only clothes and personal items from the boat, leaving a huge inventory of spares, a comprehensive tool kit including power tools, consumables, charts, cruising guides and a library of books, together with a comprehensive collection of the practical items and equipment necessary for the cruising lifestyle."

So there you go! Now you can sail off into the sunset!

Other features:

  • Segmental lee boards when lowered give a 7 ft. 6 in. draft with a large lateral underwater surface area to significanly resist leeway
  • Kept up to date and well-maintained as this was their home
  • Attractive, clean traditional lines showing slim hulls and a beautiful entry
  • No shrouds abaft the mast. She gets full support from the double backstay which is stepped on a massive box section A frame athwart ship that also takes teh chain plate shroud loading

  • Galley down adds privacy when needed but a custom built pass-though allows for socializing
  • New 2016 aluminium dingy with chaps
  • Dinghy davits
  • Separate wet room for wet gear, hanging PFD's, harnesses, etc.
  • On-board WIFI

The owner sails this boat on a regular bases and takes excellent care of her. He is currently on the boat (3 Jan. 2019). There is a new fridge/freezer, complete solar panel array has been upgraded with 3 x 130 watt new panels and 50 amp 3-step regulator giving very rapid battery charging, the engine has a new raw water pump and oil sump and starter motor. Main and Genoa have been inspected and the main seams completely re-stitched.

History

As an Apache catamaran, Foreigner is a rare design classic, something akin to the "E-type" of multihulls. She has a wonderful provenance and is frequently recognised around the Caribbean with her iconic lines and sleek shape. Her prototype was Apache Sundancer, famously a racing cat competing with the likes of British Oxygen.

Foreigner has been continuously invested in, meticulously kept up-to-date and extremely well maintained and looked after, throughout the 24 years with the current owner who is very reluctantly selling for health reasons.
