DESCRIPTION

This professionally refitted and maintained concourse condition Fairey Huntsman 28 twin screw sports cruisers is now some fifty five years of age and has had a vast amount of money spent on her during two staged refits in the last ten years to produce a vessel that is cosmetically and mechanically best of breed.

Internally the standard of joinery in her warm air heated accommodation is exceptional for a vessel of her size and overall she represents the marine equivalent of a Park Lane display motor car.

Designed originally by Ray Hunt and modified by Alan V. Burnard of Fairey Marine in Hamble, the Fairey Huntsman 28 is renowned for very superior handling characteristics and seakeeping. During the late 1960s and 1970s they were raced highly successfully offshore and gained many trophies.

Re-engined in 2001 with twin 6 cylinder turbocharged 5.9 litre Cummins 215hp diesel engines, close coupled to ZF reverse reduction gearboxes.

Bill Dunlop the renowned Fairey surveyor and former employee of the Fairey Marine factory carried out a pre purchase survey for her current owners in October 2011. This survey including engine oil analysis is available on request, however is now almost irrelevant because the few points identified were dealt with as part of more extensive work now leaving her in best of breed condition.
New teak decks (2013)

Her impressive inventory includes all stainless steel rudders and rudder tubes, Bruce anchor with chain, search light, forward coachroof deck hatch with glass pane, drop down washbasin, pushpit rail, stern ladder and exhausts along with many other stainless steel fitting on deck and throughout.

This Fairey Huntsman 28 benefits from being re-painted to a very high standard. Her exterior varnish work was re-varnished in 2016.

Other features include trim tabs, Simpson and Lawrence Horizon windlass, hydraulic steering system, Moto-Lita steering wheel, LED cockpit courtesy lights, electric head, oven with three burner grill hob unit, fridge, three battery banks, shore power and Mastervolt battery charger and an extremely fine cockpit sprayhood and extension which in the words of her surveyor "appears to be virtually leak proof".
