Traditional Gunter rig dinghy, Designer: Traditional, Builder: Lavers of Dartmouth, Year: 1931, Location Emsworth, Hants, Length on deck: 15', Beam: 6', Draft: 1' centreboard raised, £4,500, REF: 10084, Full Specification, Wooden Ships Comments, Built by Lavers of Dartmouth in 1931. Originally fitted with an inboard Stuart Turner engine, she was able to be sailed, motored or rowed and was perfect for exploring the river and local coastline. She is quite full in the bilges with a lot of buoyancy in the bows making her a dry and weatherly boat, very stable and surprisingly fast. She has had much work done in the present ownership including new mast, keel, stainless centreplate and many new ribs. She is a complete package with a custom road trailer, all over cover and a host of other equipment. At 15′ she is a very manageable size and can be launched and retrieved by one person as well as being small enough to fit on the dinghy pontoons. Length on Deck 15′, Length Overall 18′, Beam 6′, Draft 1′ (centreplate up), Construction, Clinker planked in mahogany all copper rivet fastened to steam bent oak timbers. Through the midships sections extra timbers have been fitted between each of the old timbers. Mahogany thwarts with sawn mahogany knees and a new plywood centreboard case. Small foredeck of marine plywood giving a sheltered area behind a bulkhead. Large sampson post secured against this bulkhead. Aft deck of marine plywood. Heavily constructed gunnels with two rowing positions each side. Rig, Gunter rig on a keel stepped solid varnished mast. Rigged as a cutter with a bowsprit. All varnished wooden spars. Inner and outer forestay with a pair of raked back shrouds to galvanise rigging screws and external bronze chain plates. All bronze rigging fittings. Sails, White terylene Mainsail and stay sail. Tan terylene jib on Wyckham Martin furling gear. Winches, Pair of bronze sheet winches mounted just inside the gunnels.
