DESCRIPTION

Remarks : "Buster" was built in Banff by John Watt & Sons for the first owner as a private motor sailor. The first owner was from the south west and liked to robustness, sea keeping and build quality associated with the Scottish double ended MFV's of the time. Originally she was twin masted but the rig was small and the mizzen rarely used. She is a lovely looking vessel and has been used primarily as a day boat over the past few years. Her machinery is sound and although original, very reliable. Large comfortable wheelhouse with great visibility. Below decks is spacious and features saloon, galley area, fore peak and heads compartment. Electronics include VHF, Simrad auto pilot, JRC Radar/plotter and depth log. Accommodation : The wheel house is entered by a lockable saloon style door. Great visibility at helm. Seating area port and starboard with red vinyl cushions and storage below. Set of steps down to main saloon. This area is finished in a mixture of teak and mahogany with settee/berths port and starboard with good locker storage behind. The "Galley" area is a tiled blank space with stainless steel sink, faucet and allocated area for a cooker. Heads compartment with marine toilet in passage between saloon and forepeak. Hanging/wet locker opposite heads. Forepeak cabin with storage and space for two singles. Lots of natural light from coach roof ports. Topsides painted in royal blue with contrasting ivory top strakes. Bulwark capping rails replaced in 2007. Stainless steel stanchion rails. GRP sheathed timber decks finished in non slip and painted with red coatings. Hull beneath the water line was re-payed and bottom stripped and re-coated in 2007. Vessel lifted every 2 years for wash and antifoul. Steel rudder with hydraulic powered wheel steering. Teak and mahogany wheel house with toughened glass windscreen and side windows. Hydraulic powered anchor windlass with large capacity chain locker fed through chain hawse pipe. Engine & Electrics: Vessel powered by an inboard Gardner 4LW heavy duty diesel engine. These work horses are designed to run and run at low revs for long periods of time. The engine under goes a bi-annual service due to the few hours it completes each year. Engine will cruise at 6-7 knots all day @1000rpm. Top speed is 8 knots @1200rpm. Reduction gearbox driving stainless steel shaft and 4-bladed bronze propeller. Bank of 4X12V batteries recharged by engine alternator and battery charger. These have been recently renewed and are fitted with isolators. 240V ring main with shore power cable when on the pontoon. Sails & Rigging: Deck stepped timber main mast mounted in steel tabernacle. Timber boom with sail cover. Stainless steel standing rigging and stainless steel chain plates. Traditional tan main sail.
