This Westerly Spirit 25, with its bilge keels built at the end of 1992 and not launched until 1993, is being offered for sale with a good inventory and in good condition. The Westerly Spirit 25 offers 5 berths with a Heads featuring a marine toilet, Webasto Diesel cabin heating, in-mast fully battened mainsail reefing, and a furling self-tacking jib new in 2009/2010. Accommodation
The Westerly Spirit 25 offers 4/5 berths in one single cabin. Forward is a double berth, and the overall shaped saloon settees around a central saloon table provide two single berths. There is a double berth aft of the companionway by the galley. All of the berths have storage beneath. The saloon has 5ft 11 ins headroom.
The galley is aft of the saloon and has a gas cooker with a 2-burner hob, oven, and grill. A sink with pressurized cold water and a coolbox. Crockery and cutlery are included. There are also storage units around the galley area.
Opposite the galley is the Heads compartment with a full sea toilet and hand basin with pressurized cold water.
There is blue upholstery, carpet, and curtains throughout, which give a warm feel to the boat, enhanced by the Webasto diesel cabin heating, which does need a service.
The companionway steps lead up to a large cockpit for a yacht of this size with reasonable storage lockers.

Bermudan sloop with a masthead deck stepped Kemp aluminium mast and boom. Stainless steel standing rigging (1992) and Terylene running rigging (2009). Fully battened behind mast furling mainsail and furling self-tacking jib with adjustable backstay and spinnaker pole.

Mechanical Systems
This Westerly Spirit 25 is equipped with a Volvo 2001B, single cylinder, 9hp diesel engine located under the companionway steps. It has a sail-drive to a two-blade fixed propeller with a rope cutter. Seawater cooled. Single lever Morse controls. 40 litre plastic fuel tank (new). The engine has been professionally serviced every year and was fully overhauled by the previous owner at a cost of over £3,000.

Built by Westerly’s at the end of 1992 and not launched until 1993. White GRP hull and decks with moulded-in non-slip surfaces. Cast iron bolt-on bilge keels. Tiller steering to spade hung rudder. Anodised aluminium toe rails. Stainless steel stanchions, pulpit, and pushpit quarters. Walk-through transom gate to bathing platform. Teak battens to cockpit seats. Self-draining cockpit.
Broker/Owners Comments
This is a great starter boat for anyone taking up sailing. Easy to sail with a family or single-handed. It has been well maintained and stored ashore every winter. It has just been serviced, engine, anodes, antifouled, and hull polished for the start of the season. Well worth arranging a viewing.
