DESCRIPTION

Boat Overview

Yacht for sale in the UK: Vertue 25 yacht. Designed by Laurent Giles. Built by Bossoms Yard, Oxford. Supplied with GRP hull, topsides, and main interior componentry as a completed kit in 1992, with final fit-out completed by the owner. The yacht was launched by the original owner in 1996. It has seen little use in recent years and requires a thorough cleaning but appears to be in sound order. It comes with a reasonable navigation gear inventory and features silver aluminium spars.

Accommodations

  • Forward cabin with single berth and Lavac marine WC, primarily used for gear stowage.
  • Saloon features 2 quarter berths at the aft end.
  • One saloon seat can also serve as a berth with a trotter box.
  • Removable chart panel in lieu of chart table, angled on the starboard side.
  • Small dining table on the starboard side of the saloon, demountable.
  • Small saloon seat adjacent to the galley on the port side.
  • Burgundy vinyl upholstery throughout in good condition.
  • Linear galley on the forward port side of the saloon, featuring a gimballed Taylors stove with oven and grill (paraffin) in good order.
  • Space heating in the saloon via Taylors paraffin heater and flue.
  • Instrumentation located on the starboard side of the saloon adjacent to the companionway; brackets seen but instruments believed to be stowed safely at home with sails.
  • Removable steps to the cockpit at the companionway, part of front engine case access panels. The engine compartment base sump was viewed clean and dry as of March 2017. The interior has a dry feel with no mildew observed.
  • The layout is customized to the owner's specifications and varies slightly from the standard Vertue 25 layout.

  • Fairleads enclosed through the gunwale.

  • The design and construction of Vertue yachts have been ongoing since the late 1930s, with continuous improvements and updates to these highly regarded crafts.

  • Bossoms Yard is the last highly respected builder of the Vertue marque.
