Beautifully restored classic 1956 Tholense schouw with a 1987 Mitsubishi diesel engine.

This Tholense schouw the Vrouwe Johanna was bought by the current owner around 1985. After a few years, the ship was taken to Lake Garda in northern Italy, where the boat remained until early 2010. During this period the ship was extensively restored by an Italian shipyard specialized in restoring antique ships. No expense was spared.

This Tholense schouw the Vrouwe Johanna was bought by the current owner around 1985. After a few years, the ship was taken to Lake Garda in northern Italy, where the boat remained until early 2010. During this period the ship was extensively restored by an Italian shipyard specialized in restoring antique ships. No expense was spared. The boat was completely sandblasted and all weak spots in the hull were removed and fitted with new steel. A new rudder has also been made and the deck has been fitted with teak. The cabin has a beautifully painted interior worthy of a Lemster barge.

In 2011 it was decided to bring the boat back to the Netherlands (Heeg). Since 2011 the boat has been professionally maintained at Jachtwerf Piersma, now Jachtwerf Wind and Water in Heeg. Here, among other things, new daggerboards have been made, the ironing installation for the mast has been removed from the foredeck and new, better windows have been installed. Other work done: Blocks checked, main sheet block checked, tiller adjusted, modern blocks replaced with blocks with outside fittings, teak steps on rudder, flagpole with knob, cockpit floor parts checked, blocks and spars varnished, wrestling pole varnished gold. other paint and varnish work checked, ropes checked, leatherwork gaff and boom replaced.
