The luxury catamaran is fitted with a state of the art, ultralight battery bank (30% lighter than the average batteries used in the nautical industry) with a density of less than 6kg / kWh for increased weight-efficiency and performance. A fully customizable luxury craft, the Sunreef 80 Eco catamaran offers infinite décor possibilities and access to a broad selection of ethically-sourced and eco-responsible finishing materials.
Thanks to Sunreef Yachts’ proprietary solar power system, the Sunreef 80 Eco can generate up to 32kWp. Covering a total area of 164m² solar panels can be integrated with various composite structures of the yacht including the mast, boom, superstructure and hull sides.
Overview Of Sunreef Sailing Model Range
Sunreef Yachts presents an all-around range of luxury sailing catamarans ideal for exclusive private getaways, charter and transoceanic adventures.
The sail range boasts a unique combination of exterior and interior areas easily flowing into one another. The clever bridge deck and superstructure design allow for a superior level of comfort on board, whereas the generous teak use, high bulwarks and classy lines underscore the modern style with a classic edge.
With an innovative superstructure, the range gains a saloon plan with an outstanding potential for customization. A generous, central lounging space with a panoramic view and endless layout possibilities, it opens both onto the bow terrace and cockpit.
The bow benefits from a cozy lounge, well shielded from sun and wind.
To the aft, the saloon merges with the cockpit extended with a large aft platform. All the areas combined form a universal, open environment whereflexibility and freedom reign.
A couple of stairs up from the cockpit, the flybridge is more than easily accessed. Undeniably the yachts’ most spectacular feature, the sundeck’s surface was specifically conceived to be the highlight of every model within the range. While housing the main helm, the flybridge is definitely dedicated to leisure with more than enough space for movable furniture, a Jacuzzi, fully- equipped wet bar, a barbecue and large sunpads.
The hulls provide impressive volumes to set up a custom layout including airy, luxurious guest cabins and an opulent master suite with a walk-in dressing, desk, sofa, retractable TV and an immense bathroom. A perfect setting to unwind and relax after a long day in the sun.
Solar Panels, Batteries, Motors, Range, Hotel Loads
32kw Peak solar capacity. They are the highest efficiency panels made to date. They are so durable that Sunreef feel confident putting them on the hull. Glued to the composite in such a way that allows for their maintenance and replacement if needed but also isn’t raised off the surface more than 1mm.
Solar panels recharge the batteries in 10 to 20 hours depending on the sun/day/amount of panels.
Lithium NCM Batteries are much safer than Lithium ion with less weight and volume.
Available DC Generators are 2x 80 kW. These can recharge a 300kW battery bank, in approximately 2 hours
Generators fuel tanks are 2x 1200L each (317 gallons x 2 tanks) Standard with Upgrade Option to x 3000L each (792 gallons x 2 tanks)
Upgrade Electric Motors have power output of 2x 182kW each (Approximately 240hp each) with an 11 knot Top Speed.
Cruising Range on Electric Motors with generators (assuming 2x 3000L tanks) is
- 9 knots for 1200 nautical miles
- 7 knots for 1700 nautical miles
- 5 knots for 2800 nautical miles
While at anchor or docked, the solar power can generate enough to keep all the house electrical systems operating during the day (AC, fridge, lights, etc), assuming 15-20kW/h is used. And the battery is sufficient to keep AC running all night. So about 22 hours (2 hours to charge the battery for night time AC).
