DESCRIPTION

This is Starlight 39 hull number 2. She has had only two owners from new with her current owner having her for 21 years! He has cruised her in the Channel and North Sea and is now wishing to move to a smaller similar quality yacht. This is the wing keel version that has three cabins including the saloon and two heads compartments. Well equipped and in good condition for her age, she must be viewed to be appreciated.

Accommodation

See plan:  Up to seven berths in two cabins plus the saloon. Some 6'2 headroom. From forward:

Forward cabin with double berth, stowage under plus handing lockers and shelving.

Aft to en-suite heads compartment with Jabsco marine toilet, basin and shower.

Aft to saloon which has settee berths both sides (one converting to a double) and folding leaf table between. There is plenty of stowage under and behind the berths with shelving outboard.

The L shaped galley is to starboard with two stainless steel sinks, front loading fridge, cool box, gas cooker with two burners, grill and oven. Various crockery and cutlery. Good amount of stowage throughout galley. Pressurised hot and hold water system heated via engine or 240V immersion heater.

Opposite the galley is the full size chart table with electrical panels, stowage and wet hanging locker aft of the forward facing navigators seat.

Aft of the chart table is the door to the aft heads compartment with Jabsco marine toilet, basin and shower.

The double aft cabin is accessed from the galley and has another door to to the aft heads. Large double berth with lockers and drawers under.

Eberspacher diesel fired central heating system. Curtained throughout. Teak and holly saloon sole.

Spars & Sails

Masthead bermudan sloop rig. Deck stepped white painted anodised aluminium mast and boom by Kemp Masts, 1990. Stainless steel standing rigging, 2011, with backstay tensioner. Terylene running rigging (some 2011) all led aft to the cockpit. Spinnaker pole painted white. Two Lewmar 52 self tailing primary winches. Two Lewmar 43 self tailing secondary winches. Two Lewmar coach roof mounted control line winches. Slab reefing to mainsail. Stack pack and lazy jacks. Furlex head sail furling system.

Mechanical Systems

Located under companionway steps with exceptional access to all sides. Ford Mermaid 1800 marine diesel engine. Four cylinders. 56 hp. Fresh water cooled. Shaft drive to 3 blade folding propeller. Single lever engine controls. 182 litres fuel capacity in plastic tank. The engine has done some 1780 hours from new and was fully serviced in late 2015 including timing belts.

Three 12V batteries in two banks charging via engine alternator and 240V shore power charger.  All batteries three years old and about 100Ah each. Full shore power system with sockets, immersion heater and charger.

Built by Sadler Yachts Ltd and launched in 1990. Hull number 2. White grp hull with style stripes. White grp coach roof with moulded non skid decks. Alloy toe rails. Self draining anchor well and cockpit. Wheel steering to skeg hung rudder. Lead wing keel. Hull epoxied in about 2010. Sadler twin hull construction with foam infill.
