1986 Shannon 43 Ft. Ketch

"AMARYLLIS" is Hull #15 in the 43’ series from Shannon Yachts. By the time she was built, Shannon had achieved recognition as one of the worlds’ best builders of cruising sailboats. Over the years, 9 Shannon 38’s, 4 Shannon 43’s and 5 Shannon 50’s have completed circumnavigations, as well as 2 ARC’s. You will find Shannons in cruising haunts around the world. Aside from her sturdy construction, "AMARYLLIS" has benefited over the last 14 years from many improvements and upgrades by her attentive Owners. Today, she shows in excellent shape with all systems in great condition.

Vessel Walkthrough

Starting in the cockpit your helm is centered with seating behind it. To both sides and on the binnacle your instruments and engine controls are readily accessible. Forward of the helm, there is bench seating port and starboard, with access to locker space below. All lines are lead aft to the cockpit bridge deck with winches port and starboard for headsails. Bimini and dodger protect from the elements. Companionway is on center line with a sliding hatch. Down the ladder, you will find engine room access behind the ladder. To port there is a cabin with head forward. To starboard we find the Nav Station with instruments and electrical panels. The galley is found forward of the Nav Station with oven/stove and refrigeration/freezer. Port side of salon has a long settee with storage under and cabinets above. Starboard side has a settee also with storage under and cabinets above, as well as a folding table.

The entire interior is highlighted by teak bulkheads and cabinetry with glossy teak and holly cabin soles. Bronze portlights and brass reading lights round out the comfortable ambiance of this traditional interior. Continuing forward we find a vee berth cabin with head and shower, bronze ports, reading lights, drawers and hanging closet. More storage under the mattress.

There are hatches for ventilation above every room. Out on the substantial bow sprit there are 2 anchor rollers with anchors ready to deploy when needed. Toerails, handrails, bowsprit, hatches are all well varnished and protected with canvas covers.

Main Salon:

  • Settees port and starboard with folding teak table on the centerline
  • Both settees have lee cloths, Starboard settee slides out for comfortable berth
  • Teak bulkheads and cabinetry, liquor cabinet with wine glass rack
  • Bronze opening ports (4) and (2) overhead hatches provide max ventilation

En-Suite bath facility is equipped with Corian counter top vanity and oval shaped stainless steel sink, mirrored medicine cabinets, fiberglass shower stall and Vacu-flush toilet. This head is accessed from the stateroom or the hallway.

Guest Stateroom:

The guest stateroom is furnished with twin berths, Teak hanging locker, reading lights and Teak cabinet with four drawers. Bronze opening port and an overhead opening hatch. The guest bath is also equipped with Corian counter top vanity and oval shaped stainless steel sink, mirrored medicine cabinets and Groco Vacu-flush electric toilet. This head is also accessed either from the stateroom or the salon.

Today, she shows in excellent shape with all systems in great condition. She is, perhaps, the best value in a Shannon 43 in today's market. Don’t hesitate, she will go to the first person showing serious interest.

NOTE: Owner has already purchased a new generator, but has not installed it. It can be installed at an additional price.

There is also new Highfield dinghy in storage that has never been brought to the boat. It can also be included for a consideration.

The Owner has excluded the Viking liferaft as he will need it for his next vessel.
