Accommodation
The high quality hand finished mahogany interior is in excellent condition and offers 6/7 berths in three cabins with good standing headroom (max 6'4").
FORWARD CABIN
Twin V berths with an infill to create a double berth, shelves and beneath berth stowage with a hatch to foredeck and two portlights. Aft is a door leading to the saloon with hanging lockers and storage areas to either side.
SALOON
Laid out with a U-shaped settee to port and straight settee opposite, offering decent berths either side of a central table with folding leaves and bottle storage. Stowage is provided by numerous eye level lockers and shelves whilst further space can be utilised behind and beneath the seats.
GALLEY
Located aft to port is an ergonomically designed L-shaped galley offering good stowage with useful features such as a pull out cutting board. Equipment consists of:
- Mobilife stainless steel gimballed 2-burner gas cooker with grill and oven
- Double sink with hot and cold water supply
- Fridge with small freezer section
Nina Lucia has an extended galley design providing significantly larger work surfaces and additional storage along the aft cabin passageway.
HEADS
Separate compartment aft to starboard with a marine toilet (to 65 litre holding tank), wash basin with combined shower head tap and excellent stowage.
AFT CABIN
The owners aft cabin features a small offset double berth to starboard with seating or a small settee berth to port. There is also an infill to combine these and create a very generous full cabin width berth. Stowage is provided by a hanging locker forward, shelves, lockers and beneath berth stowage with a hatch to the aft deck and portlights providing light and ventilation.
GENERAL EQUIPMENT
A pressurised water system provides hot and cold water throughout via a calorifier with immersion coil. Eberspacher D3LC diesel fired warm air heating system (may require servicing). Pale blue velour upholstery with complimenting curtains and teak and holly soleboards throughout.
Mechanical Systems
Located abaft the companionway, Volvo Penta MD2003T 43hp 3-cylinder turbo diesel engine (professionally reconditioned with exchange long block 2016). Freshwater cooled via heat exchanger. Single lever controls with electric start. Stainless steel fuel tank. Shaft drive to fixed pitch 3-bladed propeller. The engine was replaced with a new professionally refurbished long block (engine minus cooling, fuel, exhaust and electrical systems) in summer 2016 and was serviced in March 2017.
Electrical Systems
3 x 12v Batteries (new 2010) charged via engine alternator. Shorepower system with ring main, battery charger and immersion heater for hot water. Large solar panel. Electrical distribution panel.
Sails & Spars
Masthead rigged bermudan sloop. Selden anodised aluminium mast and boom. Telescopic combined whisker/spinnaker pole. Stainless steel standing rigging. Terylene running rigging. Slab reefing mainsail with lazyjacks and mainsail bag. Harken furling genoa system. Equipment includes:
- 2 x Lewmar 46 self tailing sheet winches
- 2 x Lewmar 30 self tailing mast mounted halyard winches
- Lewmar 7 mast mounted reefing winch
- Lewmar self tailing Genoa reefing winch

Construction
Aphrodite 36 built by REX Marin AB to Lloyds Construction Certification in 1988 for the London Boat Show, to a design by Carl Beyer. Teak laid decks and toe rails. Stainless steel rubbing strake. Cast iron long fin keel. Wheel steering to skeg hung rudder. Centre self draining cockpit. The teak decks (generously thick as expected from Aphrodite) have been professionally refurbished including a light sand back then completely relaid using modern materials (cabin top 2010, deck 2014) and are now in very good condition. Her gas system has also been upgraded in 2010 along with the navigation system and various other items.
