International Dragon built by Pedersen and Thuesen in 1956 and first owned by the Colmans mustard family. First launched in Lowestoft that year, named Salar as were all the family boats. She placed 3rd in the 1957 Edinburgh Cup in Torbay racing against Prince Philips Bluebottle.
She is one of 7 Dragons known to have been built by this yard where the limits of the design parameters were stretched to produce very fast boats, when this was discovered no more Dragons of this particular shape were allowed to be built but the existing boats were permitted to carry on racing. She is thought to be the last of the 7 remaining.
Bought by the present owner in 2002, she has undergone much refit work and has been brought back into a competitive racing condition. She won the 2016 Dragon Classics and has been consistently placed 1st or 2nd in the K-class fleet at Falmouth Week.
Complete with road trailer and nearly new North Sails race sails, this is a competitive Dragon ready for the coming season.
