The large aft cockpit is covered by the boat deck above with storage cabinets and an aft deck control station. The spacious salon has an L-shaped settee utilizing the full width to port layout and walkway on the starboard side only. The Northern 64 has enough room for a separate dining area with a galley that can accommodate whatever appliances the owner's would like to use.
The large pilothouse encloses the lower helm station, observation settee and navigation station, with access to VIP and guest accommodations forward on the lower deck. A separate stairway leads to the midship owner's stateroom. On the boat deck, a centerline-mounted davit allows mounting one or two tenders.
The proven hull form of the Northern Marine 64 delivers exceptional stability for passenger comfort, and a quiet ride with single commercial rated engine with a take-home drive system. Systems are specified for reliable operation, with built-in redundancy in critical areas for an extra measure of owner confidence and enjoyable long range cruising.
Fiberglass
Major FRP Components:
Hull to be infused fiberglass with core above the waterline, in a segmented female mold, using solid laminate with vinylester resin throughout, gelcoat and a barrier coat below the waterline. All exposed glass to be finish-taped.
Vessel to be built entirely undercover in Builder’s climate controlled facility.
Inserts in hull for molded-in scuppers, portlights, and bulwarks doors.
Molded FRP reverse rake upper transom with integral swim/boarding platform.
Stringers, engine beds, bulkheads and structural members will be properly sized laminate and cross-lined core throughout and infused into the hull. The bulkheads are infused 1.5" balsa core and a heavy laminate.
Shaft log tube to be fully molded with cutlass bearing and raw water cooling port. Shaft log installed and glassed so that it is integral with the hull.
Infused fiberglass composite utilizing rigid structural core and bi-axial materials for strength.
Cabin Side, Salon Deck, and Boat Deck Joints: All joints are fully bedded, fiber glassed substantially inside, and outside.

Fuel System
Two (2) Engine Room fuel tanks @ approx. 950 gallons each (1,900 gallon total) with baffles. All fuel tanks to be tested to 3 PSI.
Sight Gauges on port and starboard engine room fuel tanks with stripping lines.
Forward fuel belly tank @ approx. 800 gallons. Includes a 6 GPM fuel transfer pump and transfer manifold.

period to remove residual taste and odor.
1-1⁄2”stainless steel deck fill shall be conveniently located for taking on fresh water.

One (1) 30 gallon hot water tank heated by 220 Volt AC.
Sea Recovery R.O. water maker, 600 gal. per day w/ plankton filters, commercial pre-filter, UV light and charcoal filter.

Raw Water System
Flo-Jet on fore-deck for anchor and chain washdown.

General Interior Finishes and Specifications
Doors, drawers & face frames of cabinets to be hardwood.
General Interior;
The interior layout of the vessel shall be as defined herein, and as shown in drawing. The vessel’s interior furniture and cabinetry shall be fabricated of high quality veneered panels and solid hardwoods. Interior colors and materials shall be as selected by the Owner from NM’s selection of standard yacht interior materials. The Interior Finish will be the standard two (2) coat conversion varnish in a satin finish, unless otherwise requested by the Owner. Interior designer services are available through the builder to assist the client in all aspects of the décor specification, material purchase, tracking, design, sketches, and overall coordination of interior design. During construction of the interior components and the final close out of the interior, strict attention shall be paid to ensure that access is provided for the servicing of plumbing, junction boxes and other equipment located behind cabinetry. Modular cabinetry seams shall be hidden in express joints, and all fastenings shall be properly aligned. As standard practice:
· All cabinet, furniture doors, and hinges shall be properly aligned.
· All locksets and cabinet closures shall be of the highest quality. hardware, secure and rattle free .
· All drawers, doors, and cabinets shall have positive closures.
· As much as possible, sharp corners on structures shall be avoided.
· Rope lighting per drawings.
· All 110 or 24 V dimmers by Vimar, or equal.
· Headhunter Royal flush toilets.
· All shower doors to have splash seals; guest and master stateroom shower doors to be sliding and frameless as possible .
· Lamp outlets on countertops to be installed by Builder.
· Vanity - electrical outlets. All vanities with drawers and doors below.
· Full-length mirrors on closet doors, and mirrors on some stateroom walls.
· Bookshelves will be built as per final interior design.
· Provisions for the Shades and silhouette blinds will be provided by builder.
· All staterooms will have AC rope lighting per drawings.
· Drawer slides are full extension, self-closing, ball bearing guide such as the Knape and Vogt 8400 or Accuride 3832 with an anachrome finish.
Cabinet door and drawer catches will be Hafele push-pull or Hafele Cara-Snap.
Southco Grabbers may be used on lightly loaded doors and drawers such as a nightstand or a pencil drawer.
Drawer fronts are solid wood, with a perimeter profile detail, drawer boxes are dovetailed solid maple with maple plywood bottoms. Cabinet door hinges are 125 Deg. Blum Clip model.
Cabinet boxes (cabinet interior) will be constructed of 1⁄2” C-2 pre-finished maple faced plywood with 1⁄4” or 1⁄2” C-2 backs and 3⁄4” C-2 stretchers.
· Ceiling: Overhead vinyl designed to be removable.
· All loose furniture throughout vessel to be owner supplied.
· All artwork and accessories owner supplied.
· All sheets, towels, linens, pots and pans, china, glassware and flatware to be owner supplied.
· All window treatments provided by the owner.
· All counters in solid surface to be bull nosed edges.
· Cabinet tops, excluding galley, head and laundry room are veneer. Galley, head and laundry room cabinets have solid surface materials with a machined edge detail to complement the look of the other cabinetry. Backsplashes are 6” tall and made
from the same solid surface materials as the countertops.
The interior of all hanging lockers are to be lined with aromatic cedar.
Solid hardwood 2-panel doors for heads and staterooms with retaining clips.
All interior door hardware to be Mobella McCoy lever handles, or equal. Cabinet door and drawer latches to be Häfele (or equal)

Construction Standards
Hull and house structure, propeller shafting and steering systems are designed to meet or exceed American Bureau of Shipping rules; however, the vessel will not be classed. The hull scantlings and construction practices will be equal to that used in the construction of similar vessels already in service.
The stability of the vessel is designed to comply with or exceed current U.S. Coast Guard requirements as applicable to charter vessels.
Navigational lights will be to SOLAS requirements. Life preservers and ring buoys to be supplied by the owner.
Materials, Machinery and Equipment
All materials, machinery and equipment used in the construction and outfit of the vessel will be new and free of defects, suitable for marine service and shall be covered by the manufacturer's or supplier's warranties.
Workmanship
All workmanship will be of high quality by experienced workmen and will be under the close supervision of Northern Marine.
Inspection
The owner and his designated representative will have access to the vessel, by appointment during normal working hours for the purpose of inspecting the construction of the vessel and in accordance with company's insurance provisions.
Tests and Trials
All parts of the construction including structure, fittings, systems and machinery will be thoroughly tested to demonstrate satisfactory workmanship, proper working order, alignment of moving parts, suitability for intended purpose, and compliance with requirements of these specifications.
Leak Tests
All fuel, water and hydraulic oil tanks (if any) will be tested to three pounds per square inch pressure. All joints and penetrations will be tested and leaks will be repaired as necessary and re-tested. The tanks will be filled to the top of their full connections and all joints and penetrations tested.
All exterior watertight doors, hatches, manholes and windows will be hose tested by directing a stream of water against all mechanical joints.
Mechanical Tests
Diesel generator sets will be tested according to manufacturer's specification for proper installation, clearances, alignment, speed control, and general running characteristics.
All piping systems will be operationally tested in all normal modes. The steering piping will be tested to 1.5 times normal operating pressure. Reliefs will be set per specification.
The galley equipment will be operationally tested in all modes.
Deck equipment will be tested according to manufacturer's specifications to demonstrate proper load handling ability and control.
Electrical Tests
The generator(s) will be tested under full ship's load (all electrically powered equipment and circuits on and running) to show proper voltage regulation and governor operation.
Electronic equipment installed by the builder, with the equipment supplied by the owner.
Dock Trials
During completion of all dock-side testing, the main engines and auxiliary machinery will be run at the dock for a period of four hours to demonstrate readiness for sea. Steering, control and navigating equipment (as installed by the builder) will be checked and made ready for use.
Sea Trials
Upon satisfactory completion of the dock trial, the ship will be taken on a sea trial. The trial draft will be as near as possible to the design trim and mean draft. The trial will consist of:
Engine control adjustment
Endurance run of two hours duration at maximum RPM
Four runs over a measured mile course at three speeds
Steering and maneuvering
Anchor trials
Radar and communication equipment adjusting (technician supplied by owner)
Delivery
The delivery of the vessel will be along side the builder's dock at Anacortes, Washington, U.S.A. after completion of tests and after final adjustments and general clean up. The builder will cooperate with the owner should they elect to take delivery of the vessel in Canada outside United State territorial waters.
