This Nelson 42 MKI was moulded by Halmatic and fitted-out by Bucklers Hard Boat Builders in 1990. She was built to Lloyds Register 100 A1. She is the narrow-beam version of the Nelson 42 Mk 1, perhaps still the best medium-speed sea-boat ever designed. This Nelson 42 was built very specifically for serious coastal cruising and has many on-board systems to ensure her safe running in all conditions.
She has had three owners from new. Her current owner acquired her in 2017 and has invested significant funds maintaining and updating her. The current owner has kept her on the UK East Coast and prior to this she was always kept and maintained on the Beaulieu River in Hampshire and maintained by her creators Bucklers Hard Boat Builders.
This Nelson 42 MK I offers four berths in two cabins. The forward cabin has two single V-berths with storage beneath, a hanging locker.
Aft of the forward cabin and divided across the boat is a well equipped and laid out galley. It has a single stainless steel with large draining board with hot and cold water. Water heated by 240v immersion heater and via a clarifier, a 2 burner gas hob cooker with oven and grill, new in November 2018, 240v Microwave, 24v fridge and lots of storage space.
Just aft of the galley and to Port is a dinette which could be converted to a double berth if required with a settee opposite which could be made into a single berth. There is lots of storage locker.
Steps lead up to the wheelhouse area that has an array of navigation instruments, good around visibility, two helmsman adjustable seats.
Steps lead down into the aft cabin which has a large double berth with a separate shower/heads compartment with marine toilet with holding tank, vanity unit with a stainless steel sink with hot and cold water.
The whole boat which had new upholstery fitted in 2018 has a real cosy feel to it which is enhanced by the D4 Eberspacher diesel cabin heating.
Outside the flybridge navigation area again has an array of instrumentation and the large aft deck has a number of storage boxes.
This Nelson 42 was built at the end of 1989 and finished in 1990. She has built by Haematic and fitted out by Bucklers Hard Boat Builders in 1990. She was built to Lloyds Register 100 A1. She has a blue GRP hull and white superstructure the teak on the flybridge and non-slip GRP decks.
She under went a full osmosis preventative treatment that was carried out by Fox's Boat yard in 2018 and still has two years warranty left. The vessel has been well maintained and is only being sold as the owner is looking for a larger house.
