A classic Moody Carbineer 46 pilothouse ketch, rarely available on the market and highly sought after. These versatile cruising yachts should be viewed to appreciate the quality and space on offer. Beatrice B has been heavily upgraded during the last few seasons including:
She is now in need of some cosmetic improvement and maintenance to make her a superb example of her kind and has been priced attractively to encourage a quick sale.
Great for liveaboard or bluewater cruising with a moderate draft for local cruising too.
Viewing by appointment only through our Essex office on (01621) 785600.
The spacious accommodation offers six berths in three cabins with good headroom throughout. The saloon could also be adapted to offer another double berth. Although currently configured to offer a large number of single berths, the aft cabin and fore cabin could easily be altered to offer double berths if preferred.
WHEELHOUSE SALOON: L-shaped seating area with a table to port (this could be adapted to convert to a double berth) with helm and navigation equipment forward. To starboard is a small settee, entertainment unit, and storage in various cupboards and drawers. Opening hatches and lots of windows add to the feeling of space, and walkways lead aft to the owner's cabin and forward to the galley, heads, and guest cabins.
GALLEY: Located to port and open to the wheelhouse, is a U-shaped galley equipped with a Plastimo Neptune stainless steel 2-burner gas cooker with oven and grill (new 2010), microwave, twin stainless steel sinks, fridge, and ample storage in various drawers and cupboards.
HEADS: Forward to starboard is the main heads compartment fitted with a marine toilet, wash basin, and shower with additional stowage cupboards.
MID GUEST CABIN: Fitted with single berths to port and starboard, hanging locker, and good storage in various drawers.
FORWARD CABIN: Designed to be used as additional accommodation and currently offering two single berths, it could easily be adapted to offer a double berth, additional storage, used as a sail stowage area, or provide space for liveaboard equipment.
AFT CABIN: A walkway with lockers leads down to the owner's aft cabin which currently offers generous single berths either side of a central dressing table. An ensuite to port is equipped with a Jabsco electric marine heads (new 2013), basin, and shower with further stowage space.
The teak finished interior is fitted out to a high standard throughout and appears to have been lightly used and well cared for. The saloon upholstery has been renewed with blue fabric in 2013 and is in very good condition. Teak soleboards throughout with carpets. Cream curtains. Hot and cold pressurized water system via a calorifier with immersion coil. Stainless steel 100 litre holding tank (new 2010).
A good sized aft cockpit with binnacle wheel steering and excellent deck space provide a safe and confidence-inspiring setting for bluewater sailing. Teak laid decks (over fibreglass deck structure), cockpit seats, and teak cockpit grating add to the feeling of quality and enhance her classic lines. A teak pedestal with folding cockpit table has also been fitted to add further practicality and charm.
Ketch rig. Proctor anodised aluminium spars. Stainless steel standing rigging. Kicking strap. Mizzen runners. Terylene running rigging (new 2010). Slab reefing main sail with stackpack and lazyjacks (new 2013). Slab reefing mizzen with stackpack and lazyjacks (new 2013). Shaft drive via hydraulic gearbox to 3-bladed fixed propeller with rope cutter (new 2012). Sidepower twin propeller bowthruster with remote control (new 2011).
In 2010 the engine was professionally and comprehensively overhauled and in 2011 the fuel tanks were cleaned, new fuel gauges were installed, and a new alternator was fitted.
8 x 12v Batteries (all new 2015) in a 24v bank charged via engine alternator. Shorepower system with ring mains, Victron Energy automatic battery charging system (new 2015) and immersion coil for water heating. Westerbeke 5kva diesel generator with remote electric start (rewired and overhauled in 2010) and dedicated battery. Full cabin lighting.
