1997 Moody 36CC Bilge Keel for sale in Kent
This is a great opportunity to purchase a very rare Moody 36CC with bilge keels which is great for the East Coast of the UK and for traveling down to the med via the European Canals. This particular yacht has been extremely well maintained and updated.  The current owner is only the third owner and having owned the yacht for the past eleven years has decided its time to retire. This Moody offers great  accommodation with seven berths in 2 cabins and the saloon. A resent survey has identified that the Port keel bolt backing plates and nuts and saildrive diaphragm need to be changed in the next 12 months.  A berth in Swale Marina is also available.
Accommodation :

This Moody 36CC offer seven berths in two cabins and the saloon.  The forward cabin has a V shaped berth with storage underneath. It has hanging lockers either side and a large foredeck hatch which makes the cabin light and airy.

Aft of the forward cabin is the large and very spacious saloon. It has a settee berth off to starboard and s U-shaped settee berth to port with a central very large saloon table with folding leaves that can comfortably seat eight people.  There is storage above the settee berths.

Aft of the saloon and to Port is the navigation station which has a large chart table, with room to store lots of navigation books and charts and a curved cabinet which allows an array of navigation instruments to be mounted. Eberspacher diesel cabin is fitted with outlets in all cabins and heads. TV with DVD and Stereo  radio and CD Player. 

Aft of the navigation station is a large heads with sink in a vanity unit with storage and a shower with hot and cold pressurised water.  There is a Jabsco marine toilet with a 75 litre holding tank. There is a door aft of the heads that leads to the owners' cabin.

Aft of the saloon and to starboard is the galley which has a large L-shaped work surface with a three burner gas hob with oven and grill, twin stainless steel sinks with hot and cold pressurised water and a 12v Fridge. The galley has lots of storage space for food and utensils as well as pots and pans. The hot water is heated by a calorifier and via a 240v immersion heater. The steel water tank holds 327 litres. 

Aft of the galley is a single berth with storage underneath. The owners aft cabin has a large island double berth with storage cupboards and hanging lockers either side. There is a small narrow dressing table with a large mirror above.  The engine located between the Heads and Quarter berth and can be accessed from either side. 

The companionway steps lead up to the cockpit which has a binnacle that has an array of instruments, chart plotter, wheel steering and a cockpit table. There are good sized storage lockers around the cockpit and  two large storage lazarettes aft of the cockpit

History and Construction:
This Moody 36CC with bilge keels was built in1997 to a design by Bill Dixon. It has a white GRP hull and superstructure and decks. Teak cockpit seats. Teak and holly floorboards. This yacht was epoxied and copper coated in 2015 as a preventative measure. As she is kept in a mud berth she has also been antifouled. She was last out of the water over the winter of 2022/23 and as she is kept in a mud berth keels and rudder antifouled and anodes changed in April 2023 prior to her launch.  Gas system was last tested in 2015. A resent survey has identified that the Port keel bolt backing plates and nuts and saildrive diaphragm need to be changed in the next 12 months.  A berth in Swale Marina is also available.
Mechanical :
Sails and Spars:

The Moody 36cc is a masthead Bermudan Sloop .It has a Seldon aluminium deck stepped mast and aluminium boom, with an in-mast furling mainsail reefing system and furling genoa. Stainless steel rigging that was replaced in 2012 with manual backstay adjuster. Spinnaker Pole. The terylene running rigging was all replaced in 2012 and subsequently as required. All lines led aft to the cockpit.

Mechanical Systems:

The Moody 36CC is powered by a Volvo MD 2040 B  39HP 3 cylinder inboard diesel sail drive engine .The Saildrive diaphragm was lasted replaced in 2012.  It has a fixed 3 bladed propeller with indirect cooling system .Aluminium fuel tank holding 218 litres .The engine was last serviced by the owner in April 2023.

This boat also has a 4HP through tunnel bow thrusted fitted for added manoeuvrability in marinas.  This yacht will cruise at 5 knots and has a maximum speed of 7 Knots. 


Electrical Systems:

This vessel has 4 x12 volt batteries fitted.  .2 x Domestic 110AH approx 2 years old,1x Engine 110AH ,1x Bow thruster, all charged by engine alternator and via a 240V shore power battery charger.

Shore power system with ring main and immersion heater fitted .There is also a Victron battery management system and solar panel installed .
