DESCRIPTION

The Moody 31 MkII is a very successful model from Bill Dixon. This is a fin keel Mk.II version with the sugar scoop transom, central heating, electric anchor windlass, running rigging led aft to the cockpit and extensive inventory. She presents in absolutely fantastic condition, both inside and out, is a credit to her current owners - this all adds up to a completely compelling package.

Accommodation

Six berths in two cabins plus saloon. Forward cabin with two berths and infill to make a double. Lockers and shelving.

The saloon has two settee berths with drop leaf table between. Lots of storage under and above berths.

There is a forward facing chart table to port with chart stowage, 12V distribution panels and pvc navigators seat.

Heads compartment aft of the chart table with marine toilet, basin and hanging locker.

The L shaped galley is opposite the chart table and has a new gas cooker with two burners, grill and oven, fridge unit to ice box, cold fresh water supply to stainless steel sink, waste bin and plenty of stowage. 70 litre fresh water capacity.

There is a double aft cabin to starboard with hanging locker.

Eberspacher diesel fired central heating system. Teak and Holly saloon sole, carpeted in aft cabin and curtained. Blue draylon upholstery. Radio/CD player with saloon speakers. The interior is in superb condition.

Spars & Sails

Masthead bermudan sloop rig. Silver anodised aluminium mast and boom by Kemp Masts Ltd in 1988. Stainless steel standing rigging, 2008. Terylene running rigging, all led aft to the cockpit including the reefing and kicker. Two recent Lewmar 40 self tailing genoa sheet winches. Two Lewmar coachroof mounted control line winches with self tailing adaptors. Two Lewmar additional winches. Furlex headsail furling system. Slab reefing to mainsail led aft to the cockpit. Alloy spinnaker pole.

Mechanical Systems

Located under companionway. Volvo Penta 2003 marine diesel engine, 1988. 28hp. Three cylinders. Salt water cooled. Shaft drive to two bladed folding propeller. Single lever engine controls. 120 litres fuel capacity. The engine gives a cruising speed of some 6.5 knots. Last owner serviced in 2020. New stern gland in 2020.

Three 12V batteries charging via engine alternator, solar panel and 240V shore power charger. 196 ah domestic & anchor winch plus 99ah engine start battery, all 2016. Battery management system. Inverter.

Construction

Built by Marine Projects (Plymouth) Ltd in 1988. White grp hull with style stripes. Hull epoxied in 2014. White grp coachroof with light grey moulded non skid decks. Cast iron fin keel. Tiller steering to skeg hung rudder. Alloy toe rails. Stainless steel safety rails and guard wires. Alloy stanchions. Varnished teak coachroof grab handles. Self draining cockpit and anchor well.

Last surveyed in 2016 (copy available) and all recommendations attended to. Full documentation.
