DESCRIPTION

The Hunter 44 deck saloon is an excellent liveaboard cruising yacht. . She is currently afloat in Cartagena Spain, She is fully equipped and ready to go Ocean Cruising. Live your dream and sail away.

Designed by Glen Henderson the Hunter 44DS is a moderate displacement blue water cruising yacht. Her long waterline length and volume allow speed and excellent interior and exterior space that would normally only be possible on larger vessels.

The design incorporates a large aft cockpit and  the 'deck saloon' facilitates an exceptionally light and airy saloon with a raised floor level that offers plenty of storage for water tanks, holding tanks and even a water maker, which helps give a low centre of gravity.

Under power the Hunter 44DS offers economical quiet cruising, approximately 3 litres per hour, with a max speed of 8 knots at 2500 rpm.

This  Hunter 44DS (Owners version) has been extensively upgraded and cared for by the current owners since new. She really can match your ideas and lifestyle no matter whether your interest is in a blue-water long range passage maker or just a yacht to live aboard and potter at weekends.

Owners comments

Chaser is a superb, extensively modified hunter 44 ft deck saloon, bought new and registered in UK, VAT paid with British owner, having one owner from new, lovingly cared for and enjoyed in the Mediterranean and the Caribbean.

She is a cruisers dream come true. First of all she has a large aft cockpit that can be enclosed in winter climes but also caters comfortably for us and our family for al fresco dining during the hot weather. The saloon (rarely used for dining) is huge with more than 7ft headroom and can also sleep 3 people by lowering the saloon table creating an enormous double berth and the 3rd person on the starboard side settee. The saloon table is extendable to maximise the number of diners. There are book shelves and cupboards either side of the saloon and a 32 inch flat screen TV on the forward bulkhead.

The  aft stateroom is the owners version thereby taking the full width of the stern. The centerline queen size double berth has a proper very comfortable spring interior mattress,. Despite being under the cockpit there is still over 6ft headroom either side of the bed  This cabin also has spacious  storage and wardrobes on either side of the bed, with hatches and windows on the port and starboard side. The ensuite head and shower also opens to the saloon on the starboard side, the heads and shower has over 7ft headroom...

The forward stateroom again has a very comfortable spring interior mattress in the forepeak 7ft long and 7ft wide at the widest point. There is a seating area with storage under, a wardrobe and its own ensuite head, shower and vanity unit. Storage under the bed too. Under the storage area is a reserve water tank.

Nav Station:

On the starboard side opposite the galley has storage under the seat. The nav table opens for storage of charts etc and on the starboard side is the 12 volt and 220 volt electric panels.

Galley:

The galley has everything a ships cook needs, there is plenty or storage for food and drinks etc. The 2 ring gas cooker has a thermostatic oven and grill. The original galley design had a front opening freezer, this has been replaced with an ice maker. A top opening freezer has been installed where the garbage bin was under the Corian worktop adjacent to the double sink unit. The large front opening fridge is under the work top as in the original design. The sink unit has 3 taps, one for the pressurised hot and cold freshwater, the second for the pressurised sea water and the 3rd is for the watermaker output, this can also be diverted to fill the starboard water tank.

Manufacturer Provided Description

This innovative cruiser is all new with a performance orientated hull drawn by noted designer and racer, Glenn Henderson, Hunters Chief Designer.

Following on the heals of the tremendously successful Hunter 356, the new 44 will share the same sailing attributes. Like the 356, the new 44 carries the beam well aft, but the additional beam does not hinder performance or sea keeping ability, it actually enhances it. Wide windows and ports offer a real panorama and the creative layout allows for two full staterooms with two full heads with separate stall showers.

Continuing to innovate and go more upscale, this Hunter will offer special amenities such as flat-screen television and Bose Audio systems as standard. Galley appliances are stainless steel and surrounded by genuine Corian countertops. Innerspring mattresses are standard in both spacious staterooms and there is even a special desk/office area in the master.

The New Hunter 44 will be debuting at the Fall Boat Shows and will be available in September. CE Certified boats are available for purchase in the United States, upon special order and for increased cost.

As stated in our owners manuals, all CE Certified boats will carry a special CE plate, which will be attached to the boat. Boats that are destined for Europe or countries that require CE Certification will have this plate.

Boats intended to be sold in the U. S. and most other areas will not carry the plate even though many aspects of the boat comply with the requirements.

All hulls and decks are constructed to the same specifications whether they are to be CE Certified or not. The difference is in add-on accessories and different voltage appliances specified for certain countries.
