AVAILABLE JUNE 2019 -THE NEW LAGOON 40-139

A SLEEK AND INNOVATIVE DESIGN

AN EXTERIOR THAT OFFERS SPACE AND COMFORT

NEW GENERATION RIGGING OFFERS PERFORMANCE AND SIMPLICITY

AN INTERIOR WITH ELEGANCE AND LUMINOSITY

Symbolizing a new Lagoon generation, the 40 is endowed with enhanced performance. The larger sail plan ensures a better sail surface/displacement ratio, making the 40 a fast and seaworthy boat. The decision to move the mast further aft, arising directly from VPLP’s experience in racing, has many advantages on this catamaran. For ease of handling, the 40 has a self-tacking jib and a shorter boom. For more performance, the 40 has a large foretriangle offering a greater choice of foresails and a high-aspect mainsail, enabling use of less disturbed air higher up.

On deck, space and comfort are combined with a new aft cockpit layout like that of the 42. This space is open to the sea, with a dining table to port that can accommodate up to twelve guests, a relaxation area on the same side, and a seat on the aft crossbeam. The ergonomic helm station can be accessed from the cockpit or the deck, affording continuous communication between the helmsman and the rest of the crew. The skirts are wide, with a large platform, to enjoy the sea with feet in the water as well as to facilitate access to the dinghy and enable an easy and safe climb aboard.

Below decks, elegance and natural light are the watchwords! The selection of sophisticated materials, by Nauta Design, enhances a warm and modern style. With 3- or 4-cabin layouts available, the 40 can satisfy all the requirements of owners and of large families. Very large hull glazings with integral portholes for the cabins provide exceptional light and a magnificent exterior view. The special attention devoted to the distribution of space, flowing circulation and natural lighting make this new interior a truly pleasant living area.

Manufacturer Provided Description

A SLEEK AND INNOVATIVE DESIGN: With her new visual identity, the 40 immediately stands out. While faithful to the image of Lagoon’s "DNA", a new style is born: An individual, streamlined and accomplished design depicts her large portholes and panoramic views. This creates a refined and high-performance unit, emphasized by the chamfer running from the bow to the stern. A new generation Lagoon, recognizable at first sight.

EXTERIOR: SPACE AND COMFORT: A comfortable cockpit looking out to sea: A starboard dining table, able to accommodate up to twelve guests, a recreation area on the same side and seating at the rear beam. - An ergonomic helm station accessible from the cockpit or deck, thus enabling communication between the skipper and crew at all times. - Large aft transoms with a spacious swim platform, allowing simple access to the tender and safe, easy boarding. - A forward cockpit, fitted with a sunbathing area, provides further living space.

NEW GENERATION RIGGING: PERFORMANCE AND SIMPLICITY A symbol of the new generation Lagoons, the 40 is endowed with advanced performance features: A VPLP hull structure and an increased sail area provide a better sail surface area / displacement ratio. The decision to position the mast step further aft, which stems directly from VPLP's experience in competitive sailing, provides this catamaran with multiple advantages: - A self-tacking jib for simplified manuevers. - A large forward triangle for a wider choice of downwind sails, translating to better performance. - A shorter boom for ease of manuevering. - A main sail, with a high aspect ratio, enabling the capture of better airflow in the upper parts of the sail for optimized performance. - The re-centering of weight, thanks to aft positioning of rigging, considerably reduces pitching.

INTERIOR - ELEGANCE AND LUMINOSITY: A selection of luxurious materials, by Nauta Design, enhances the new interior lines: - A wide choice of accommodation layouts to meet the needs of owners and large families: available in three or four cabins. - A new aft cabin, fitted with a “semi Island bed” berth and multiple storage space. - Large hull window glazing with integrated portholes in the cabin provide exceptional natural light and an outstanding view. - Particular attention given to volume layout, smooth flow of circulation and luminosity makes this new interior a truly pleasant living area.
