Complete re-evaluation of hull thickness resulted in idealised strength balance and significant weight reduction. Curb mass is now a trim 462 kg. The Kawasaki Smart Steering (KSS) supplementary steering system is designed to assist new riders as they learn turning and manoeuvring of a personal watercraft.
The ULTRA LX gets more aggressive styling care of a redesigned front face with more edged contours. Intake-style design at the bow contributes to the powerful, aggressive image. Front hatch has a flatter design, conveying an image of speed.
Sponsons extending from the hull and fins along the underside of the side bumpers provide stable straight-line performance (e.g. porpoising from start is minimised, etc) while helping to retain the machine’s narrow overall design.
