The Island Packet 370 combines the tried and true build of an Island Packet with notable improvements.
She will always be beamy, have a full foil keel which protects the prop and rudder and affords a stable ride even in less than great conditions, be stiff, avoid rounding up, and swallow tons of gear.
She will always be kind, and cover your mistakes.
She will always give you great tankage and range, and have inorganic cored decks that won't accept moisture and have a solid glass hull, with no coring to worry about.
She will have a versatile split rig to handle the worst conditions, and the list of the standard, wonderful things that any IP offers...... BUT...the 370 has fiberglass water and holding tanks, and two beds that can be accessed from either side, and has a separate stall shower and a helm seat with a back rest.
These might seem like small items, BUT they do make a difference.
The galley is located at the base of the companionway steps to starboard, and allows the cook to be part of the conversation in both the salon and the cockpit. Also, it's easy to pass up drinks and sandwiches to a hungry crew.
When entering from the cockpit, you notice the steps are wide and easy to navigate. To the starboard side is the "U" shaped galley which is efficient, safe and a great place to cook. Storage above the counter, below and in a large dry hold afford placement for your cooking essentials.
To port of the companionway is the entrance to the aft cabin, which also houses the nav station (or desk/makeup area when not used for navigation). The common bulkhead between the aft cabin and salon has an opening panel that can be used for privacy when the aft cabin is used for sleeping, or left open for day use.
Next, moving forward, is the spacious salon. Island Packet's signature bulkhead mounted table keeps the table up and out of the way until you need it. Then it drops, and can be used as a single table for two, or opened to seat at least four. Behind the table mount is more storage for glasses, dinner ware, napkins, etc. The facing settees in the salon can function as single berths, or you can convert the port settee to a double.
Next forward to port is the head, with marine toilet and holding tank, Corian vanity and separate stall shower. You can access the head from the salon, or with a private door from the owner's cabin.
Finally, the owner's cabin is forward with a center line queen bed, being able to be fully accessed from both sides. This bed lifts at the foot to allow access to a huge bin. The aft bed features this, too, and there are pneumatic shocks that make lifting the premium mattress easy.
Throughout the boat are stainless steel opening ports with screens, opening overheads with screens and shades, hanging lockers, drawers and cubbies everywhere. There is massive storage underneath the settees for boat spares, tools, bedding, food....what have you.
The floor is beveled with strips of teak and oak, the cushions are a rich shade of pumpkin....doesn't show dirt....and the boat is still light and bright.
Sails and RiggingMango lll offers the tried and true cutter rig, which gives great versatility in bad weather.
Everything is handled easily from the cockpit.
DeckIsland Packet offers wide decks with premium nonskid to make going forward easier and safe. There are bulwarks to give you additional footing and good grab rails the length of the coach roof and double stainless steel lifelines.
Starting forward...
