She is a gorgeous example of this world renowned Bill Tripp timeless design with an overhauled Westerbeke diesel engine, custom upgrades and Herreshoff interior. This classic Hinckley sailing yacht features gleaming Mahogany and Teak and Holly brightwork along with custom shelving and retractable navigation station. She is a must see pedigree yacht that has circumnavigated the world proving herself an epic two person blue water cruiser. Aft of the chain locker in the forepeak is a large V-Berth with five drawers below (2 per side and 1 on center). To port is a chest of 5 drawers and to starboard are 2 hanging lockers. There are 3 fixed ports (2 per side and 1 forward) with an overhead hatch on center. There is a privacy door with the keel stepped mast behind. Continuing aft are hanging lockers to starboard. The head is to port with a manual Wilcox Crittenden Skipper marine toilet and vanity with sink. There is a hand held shower into a floor grate with an electric sump pump. There is a mirrored medicine cabinet, a cabinet with 6 drawers, and an opening screened port. The salon has a pilot berth and lower settee berth to port and a settee to starboard with 3 drawers below. The lower berths, which slide out, also have 3 drawers below. On center is a drop leaf dinette table with center board control access and an overhead opening hatch. Galley icebox to starboard with double SS sinks and cooking station to port. There are storage lockers outboard and the retractable navigation station is forward the ice box to starboard. The electrical panel and battery charger are to starboard upon entering the cabin. There is a Teak and Holly cabin sole, fixed windows port and starboard. Three steps up to the cockpit area.

In 1934 Benjamin Hinckley purchased a small boatyard in Southwest Harbor in Maine and turned the production over to his son, Henry R. Hinckley, after graduating from Cornell University with an engineering degree. The first sailing yacht was launched in 1938 and after the war in the 50's, twelve of the Bill Tripp designed wooden hull Bermuda 40 yawls were built. The first fiberglass Bermuda 40 was built in 1959 with production continuing until 1991 with over 200 of these classics yachts built.
