Boat Overview

NEMO is a 2015 Grand Soleil 47. She measures 47 feet, 11 inches and is a performance cruising sailboat designed by renowned naval architect Marcelino Botin for the Italian shipyard Cantiere del Pardo. Botin is known for his work on America's Cup racing yachts, and the 47's design reflects that racing pedigree with a focus on performance and speed.

Construction

The hull and deck are constructed using vacuum-infused fiberglass sandwich panels with carbon fiber reinforcements, making the boat both lightweight and stiff. This construction also helps to lower the boat's center of gravity, which improves stability and handling.

Sailing Features

The Grand Soleil 47 features a fractional sloop rig with a deck-stepped mast and a self-tacking jib. The sail plan is powerful yet manageable for a cruising crew, and the boat can be easily handled by a couple or a small family.

Accommodations

Below deck, the 47 offers accommodations for six guests in three cabins. The layout is designed for comfort and livability, with a spacious saloon, a well-equipped galley, and large head compartments.

Recent Activity

NEMO has recently completed a successful trans-Atlantic crossing and spent the winter cruising the Caribbean before making her way up the US East Coast to Maine, where she is currently hauled out for routine maintenance and available for your inspection.
