This vessel was SOLD on October 26. Unique opportunity to own a piece of nautical history. Originally built in 1941 Shenandoah was a survey boat for the Panama Canal. Since then she has lived a varied life alternatively used a a fireboat in Louisiana and as a commercial tug in Florida, New York and Connecticut. Currently she is partially converted to a custom tug conversion and could easily be used as a pleasure boat with additional work completed or could revert to her role as a commercial vessel. The large pilothouse has been enhanced with opening windows to allow great light and ventilation. There are electronics present in the form of a GPS plotter and a VHF radio ( additional transducer is available to install if desired) There is a nicely finished galley behind the wheelhouse with cabinets, sink, fridge, microwave and dinette. This area also has Dutch style wing doors allowing access to the side decks as well as additional ventilation. Outside areas have been modified to allow comfortable seating while at anchor or underway. Extensive custom canvas has recently been installed offering covers for most hatches and ports as well as cushioned seating. The engine room is large and easily access from the galley area or the aft deck. It is well lit and offers good access to all machinery and systems. Steel grating allow easy visual inspection of the bilges and systems. Primary propulsion is provided by a single 520hp Cummins KTA1150 diesel engine powering a 48" wheel. The engine is reported to have 680 hours and all maintenance is reported to be up to date. There is also a diesel generator forward that can supply power to run all the ships systems or anticipated upgrades. Forward of the engine room is a large unfinished area that could be completed as an owners cabin. With standing headroom and full hull width there is ample room to build a seating area as well as a fixed bunk and other built-ins. Forward of this is a bulkhead that could be modified to give access to the forward hold that could be converted to a large head.
